Thanks for stopping by. It was fun, but if you think your friends would be envious of that day, just wait. It gets so much better. We are big Chiefs fans here and even more so after what happened last weekend.

The year (or year and a 1/2... or 2 years) of wishes is such an awesome idea!!! :yay::dance3::yay: I love the wishes on the list!!! :goodvibes

Your husband sounds like such a great guy. That is awesome that he stepped into you life at a difficult time for you and jumped right in!! We need more men like that!!!

I have loved the movie nights. As a teacher, :teacher: I'm totally in to the way you have your kids plan, budget, delegate the movie nights!! The curtain made light saber curtain is SUPER creative!! :thumbsup2 What fun!!

I loved the guess game idea, but sadly I had no clue to what KC meant!! :lmao: I'm excited to hear about what happened the next day after Family day.

Here's to tons of wishes coming true!! pixiedust:

The training camp day looked like lots of fun! Can't wait to hear the next part of it. I hope he was able to have his wish come true for some signatures.

Thanks for sharing your list and your/(his) story.

The next day we awoke early and headed down to the hotel breakfast. It wasen't nearly as crowded. Paige and Jenna elected to stay back at the hotel and swim so the rest of us headed out to the car. On the way out John got to talking to another disabled vet in a scooter. This guy had been there for nine days and had gotten some pretty special treatment which made me so happy to hear. I am really proud to say my hometown team really knows how to treat their veterans. This guy asked us to wait a minute while he went and got something for John. He came back with a signature ball that he haden't used for John to get signed instead of the regular red and yellow football we had. After that we headed out to the training camp. It was much calmer and once we got inside the gates John went to the ADA area to watch the Chiefs practice while I went to the information desk to find out what to do. The guy there paged the event manager and while we were waiting a couple of the staff members I had met the day before came up to see how we were doing. I used this opportunity to ask if either of them were familiar with the Chiefs Stadium and if they knew if we would be able to get Johns scooter up to the area where our seats were. One of the guys assured us that there was ADA seating available on every level but told me to call the ticket office and tell them he said to switch our our tickets. By this time the guy they had paged had gotten there and told me he had gotten multiple emails about our family that morning and they had a special area for us to go. He told me to go to the entrance of the VIP area and tell them he had sent us. After rounding up John and Jonnie we headed to the VIP area where we directed to an area right next to the tent where the players families sit and right a long to fence next to the player walkway. The closest I can come to explaining how cool this was is to liken it to what I imagine standing right next to the red carpet at a Hollywood premier would be like, We were given drinks and otherwise treated like VIPS but we were told that autographs were not guaranteed. It didn't matter we were right up close where we could see all the coachs and players as they got off the field. I loved watching the players interact with their children as they came off the field and we did have a few guys come up and talk to John and sign his ball. The fact that a few of his very favorite players were among the three who he got autographs of and Jonnies favorite player was the other one was just icing on the cake. Jonnie used the ball we bought for signatures and Tessa got a pennant signed for my dad. It was an amazing day that I just can't describe in words so I will do it in pictures instead.

More pictures to come:

That is soooooo cool!!! I am glad to read all of the wonderful experiences (so far!)

As I said we had an amazing day and John really felt like his wish came true. We plan on trying to go back next year just to take it all in again even though I doubt it will ever be as amazing as this time. We stayed one more night and the kids played in the pool a lot. Then we headed home and that is when the coolest thing happened. I decided to take advantage of the long drive home to call the lady in the ticket office that our friend up at the camp suggested I call. I was transferred from person to person every time I mentioned his name until I got the top ticketing manager. She asked me a few questions, verified who wanted me to get my tickets exchanged, asked how I felt about different areas (I told her anything would work as long as John could get to his seat.) Then she said "Well I know what seats -- would have me give you" and asked if I was close enough to come trade the tickets. Well it just so happened that I was about to pass the stadium on our way home so I asked if I could come right then. She told us exactly where to go and came down to the ticket office to meet me. She took the tickets my kids had won/earned for their practice, handed me an envelope and told me she hoped my husband enjoyed his time at the game. On the way back to the car (John and most of the children were waiting there) I opened the envelope and nearly burst into tears right there in the parking lot. They had taken the upper level seats that my children had won in the farthest section back and replaced them with Front Row seats right on the endzone. I am still in shock and my husband is so:yay::yay::cheer2::cheer2::cool1::cool1: excited this really is a dream come true for him. Needless to say I will have more pictures after the game.

Judy, Thanks for stopping by. I know how busy you are. I have been in tears for a good portion of the time writing it. I'm not sure I can even express how magical it was. Writing this has made me excited to write our comic con wish though. It was a similarly magical experience. Also I have some wish related news I need to get to soon.
