I've been tossing the numbers and trying to convince myself that resale would be better for a 30 point OKW addon but buying direct if I want the extra 15 years is coming out cheaper.
This hoping I can get one with 2009 and 2010 points--(Not stripped)

average resale 30points x 73.00(average)= 2,190.00
closing = 300.00
upgrade 15 years = 750.00
------------------------------------------
3,240.00

Direct Disney
30 2009 -no M,F
30 points x 101.00 = 3,030.00 ( 2057)
no closing cost
no upgrade fee
------------------------------------------
3,030.00

Am I missing something?:confused3

4th small contract and I'm still questioning myself.

for one thing, the value of the "upgrade" is not nearly worth $25 per pt. if you can find a resale that has been extended to 2057, it will only be $5 per pt or so more expensive than a 2042 contract.

the problem is finding a 30 pt resale contract. they are rare in the first place and adding specific requirements like "loaded contract" or "extended contract" will make it harder. closing costs for a 30 pt contract add $10-11 per pt to the total cost - making the higher direct price less of an issue.

for smaller contracts like this, it's usually easier to add-on directly. if you wanted a 50 pt contract, your odds of finding a resale would go up a bit.

Thanks Chalee94

I'm thinking direct may be my best way to go.
My other three contracts are 2057 and I'd like this one to be also.
Now to do the Canadian /American exchange :scared1::scared1:.

Then a day to sleep on the idea of adding on when I said no more after
last year.;)

I just added 50 points at BCV via Disney. I have a March use year and got 09 points with no MF's for 09. Quick and painless. I think if you are adding on a small amount of points and can get banked points so to speak it is worth it to add thru Disney.

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I have a quick question about add-ons that I hope someone can answer. If you add on direct thru Disney for 50 pts or more in order to finance (please no flames, let's not have that debate :goodvibes) do you have to put down a deposit like you do when buying in initially? I know the financing is automatic for existing members, but I have never heard anything in regards to a deposit being required. TIA :)

You need to put down 10% and you can finance the rest if you add 50 or more points.
