I asked on the resorts board and then thought this would be a better place:
I've had ressies for a while now and paid in full. Now we're thinking about taking my mom and dad to disney with us for Christmas. Can we add them to our ressie even though we've paid in full? We have free dining but the promo is now over. can they still get it if on our ressie? Also, can you fit 4 adults, 1 child, and 1 toddler in one of the music suites? or do you have to have 2 regular rooms?

The max occupency in the family suite is 6 plus 1 child under 3, so you are fine with the suite. I don't know the answer to whether you can add people, but am curious to find out. Your best bet is to call and ask.

I was able to add my sister to our reservation only 4 days before we left. We had free dining. I know that we were cutting it close on that one! We have added people (usually more than 4 days out, maybe 2 weeks..) several times, so I think that you should be able to add them as long as you stay with the reservation number that you have. So, if you wanted 2 rooms, I am not sure that would work, but if you already have the suite booked, then I do not think that there would be a problem... Remember that there is the extra charge per adult per night for the room- not sure if that is true for suites...

I called and was told no. no free dining for them since its over even though we would be upgrading to a suite and staying together.

I would call back and ask someone else, you have to be on the same plan if you are in the same room, so if they can't have free dining, does that mean you won't have free dining either?

You might still try calling back, but my guess is no because looks like you are wanting to move rooms from a normal room to a fam suite, which is essentially like changing the entire reservation.

Did they say if you guys would be able to keep your free dining by swapping to a family suite? Typically everyone on the same reservation has the same package, so I find it odd that you guys would be able to have free dining but they would need to pay.

Either way, try calling back and asking a different CM. Quite often you can get a different answer.

I'd also suggest that you call back. I was able to add an extra person to our buy 4 get 3 free promo earlier this year and I was even able to upgrade to a moderate resort. But it took me four phone calls. The promo had ended way before I added the person and upgraded. The last time I called, I reworded my inquiry to say something like....."I want to add somebody to my existing reservation and I want to upgrade resorts. Surely, you guys won't have a problem with it since we'll be sending more money your way." I was put on hold and about ten minutes later, the castmember came back and said she had spoken with a supervisor. She asked if I was ready to "spend more money" right then and when I told her yes, they upgraded the resort and added the person.
