Adding People to Dining Reservations

I am trying to book a Princess Breakfast. I have been following threads where people are having trouble booking Fantasmic Packages for parties of 2 and by changing the number to 3 they are able to make a booking. I have the opposite problem we ARE a party of three but I can only book for a party of two. Anyone had any experience of booking for say 2 and turning up with a third person and asking them to be added or is there some other way I can get my party of 3 booked up front.

Try booking for 4. It's much easier for them to accommodate one less guest than to add one. Check the cancellation policy, not sure if you have to pay in advance for that one as I'm not as familiar with DL dining policies.

Try to overbook rather than under. Showing up with an odd number can be awkward. If there are no larger tables to handle the additional person (already in-use/reserved), you may be out of luck. They have planned the seating and load based on the # of people reserved. Leaving one off is much easier. Definitely keep an eye out if there is a pre-pay, as previously suggested. You can also book for 4, then call in and request it be reduced to 3.

I would try to book for 4 rather than 2. A table for 4 can fit 3 but a table for 2 can not always accommodate 3.

Yes I did give it a try booking a table for 4 but still no luck. I guess I will just keep trying and hopefully something will turn up. It is a celebration for my autistic daughters 28th birthday and it is the one thing she really wants to do so I am really hoping I can make this happen.

It's been dicey when I've shown up with one extra (and that was with reservation for 3 and I had a 4th join), they are MUCH more "oh it's no problem!" when I've been a person short. I did actually get seated with my party of 4, but it was a lot more of "let me go check." "Um... please wait, I need to make sure we can accommodate this..." so it sounds more difficult for them, even if they physically have the table room.

I may have to book for 4 and just grab some random person from the hotel lobby to join us . I think I might give them a call today and see what I can find out.

This breakfast is not paid in advance. So booking for 4 is a good option.

I managed to snag a booking for Sunday Dec 1 for 4 people. I would prefer the following Sunday but I will take what I can get at the moment and keep checking to see if that date opens up in the next few days but at least I have a time booked for my daughters birthday so I am a happy bunny.

Just keep checking randomly to see if something opens up for the Princess Breakfast for 3. I would bet that something will open up...especially a week or two from your reservation time because a lot of people book it and cancel. I was in the same boat for the Princess Breakfast in June. There was only availability for a party of 2 or none at all. I was able to secure a table for 3 a week outside our trip. It was one of our highlights.

It is so weird isn't it. I understand their tables are set up as either 2's or 4's as that what looks nice in a restaurant but there are so many travel groups that are 3. You would think their system could handle an odd number. Anyway thanks so much for the tip and encouragement I will keep checking every day and like you said maybe something will magically appear. The princess breakfast is one that I see pop up a lot. I think people change their minds due to the high cost and cancel last minute. So keep looking

Got it, woo hoo. Sunday the 8th times dropped today and I as able to get a 10:20am so I am super happy. I now have all my dining reservations, all for pretty close to what I wanted in the way of times. Getting very excited now.
