Adding people to a reservation after-the-fact?

Quick question - when buying the DDP, it requires that it be purchased for everyone in the party, right? So what happens if a person is added to a reservation after the DDP has already been bought for everyone that is already on there? Will the system force you to buy another DDP plan? Or is the requirement waived after the fact?

Thanks!

Do you want them to have the DDP or not? I could not tell from your post.

If you add them prior to arrival and check in, then yes, they have to have the DDP.

When you arrive and check in, that distributes the items in the package. Once that is done, you can go to the front desk and add an extra person to the.room without the ticket and dining plan requirement (so long as you aren’t exceeding room occupancy).

Thanks for the reply. I don't know if they want to add the DDP or not, so I'm trying to figure out if it's necessary or not. Basically, we have 3 people on the reservation and have already bought the DDP for 3 people. If I modify the res to add a fourth person - how does that work?

Will they send me a notification that says "you need to pay to add the person?"

Or will they just deduct an extra person's DDP charge from the account that I originally bought it?

OR, if they don't do either of those things, then how can they enforce that everyone needs to have the DDP?

Thanks again.

If you modify the reservation prior to check in, but after the paid in full date for packages, there should be a fee for the extra adult, for their ticket, and for the DDP (everyone has to have all the same components, so if you bought tickets for three, you will now be buying tickets for four also). If doing this online, they should ask for payment at the time of modification. It should show you a page similar to when you first booked, showing the new total and requesting you pay at that time.

If you make the modification prior to your package paid in full date, they should add the additional amount you now owe to your original balance, and the entire amount would be due by your original pay in full deadline. For example, if you have $300 left to pay on your original package, and you add an additional $500 for the fourth person, your balance due would be $800 and due the same date as the $300 you had left.

Are you asking about modifying a RESORT reservation? Then yes, if you add a 4th that individual will have the same components (tickets and dining plan) as the original 3.

Are you asking about a DINING reservation? You can have a mix of DDP and cash dining together. I don't believe you can use a 4th DDP entitlement for the additional person at any given meal.

Okay thanks. We're DVC, so it is a completely separate charge, so I'm assuming that they will just add the charge after we modify the reservation.
