I purchased tickets for family for 7 day park hopper (it was a special for 6 days one day free or something for $470) so 7 days. If I get us a later flight home on departure day and we want to go on a few extra rides, is it a set price as to how much adding an extra day is? How does that work? Thanks!!

2. How does that work?

1. There is a price for adding and another "day" to a new, current 7-day ticket.
It costs $10 (plus tax) per ticket.

2. Go to any ticket booth or guest relations and ask to add a day to your tickets.
(You can do this any time during your trip, up until as LATE as ON the same day that you have used your original ticket's
last asset.)

Thank you so much. And just to confirm, it doesnt matter where i purchased the tickets (undercover tourist) to be charged that price correct (since the ticket price was so much lower than gate).

Thanks again!

It CAN matter where and WHEN you bought your tickets.
WHEN did you buy from UT?

I'm piggy backing on this thread...I bought a hopper ticket from UT on Feb 14 before the prices went up. I got a 4 day + 3 day free for $418 total. How much would it cost to add one day to this ticket?

Thaks

Treat your current ticket as if it was a 7-day Park Hopper.
Do the upgrade math for making it an 8-day Park Hopper.

Cost to Upgrade:

"Price bridging" for Upgrading Tickets has changed in some cases.
As it stands now, tickets purchased from stock issued before the
price increase of Feb. 12, 2017 (this is NOT necessarily related to the date that YOU purchased your tickets)
will be bridged only to the pre-increase price that Disney sold these tickets to the public.

That means:
There are currently two different ticket upgrade scenarios:

1. To upgrade an "Old Price" Ticket:
If the ticket that you have, and want to upgrade, was purchased from an authorized ticket reseller from "old stock" or "leftover tickets" (a ticket minted BEFORE the Feb. 12 price increase,) THAT ticket will be price-bridged up to the full WDW on-line/phone-order price that was in place BEFORE Feb. 12, 2017. Even if you actually purchased your tickets after Feb. 12, if you bought
"leftover tickets" from the resellers older stock of tickets, they are considered to be tickets
minted before Feb. 12.

The on-line/phone-order price at which Disney sold these tickets to the public "before Feb. 12" will be the price subtracted from the CURRENT on-line/phone-order price of the new ticket to which you are upgrading.
That difference price will be the cost to upgrade.

2. To upgrade a "New Price" Ticket:
If the ticket that you have, and want to upgrade, was purchased from an authorized ticket reseller from "current stock" (a ticket minted AFTER the Feb. 12 price increase,) THAT ticket will be price-bridged up to the full CURRENT WDW on-line/phone-order price.
That "current price" of your original ticket will be subtracted from the CURRENT on-line/phone-order price of the new ticket to which you are upgrading.
That difference price will be the cost to upgrade.

Thank you for the in-depth answer. I am sure the ticket I purchased was from "old stock". So if I did my math correctly, the ticket will be bridged to $467.54, for the old selling price of a 7 day ticket, and a new 8 day hopper is $527.18, so I would have to pay $59.64 to add one day!

I was thinking of doing the exact same thing with the same kind of tickets from UT and my math came out a little differently. I used the pre tax 8 day hopper price of $495-$467.54 = $27.46. Then added sales tax, which i think is 6.5%, so another $1.78. So I believe the cost to upgrade a ticket would be $29.24. I think. Can someone double check that math for me?

The problem with your calculation is the $467.54 includes tax already. so you have to add the tax($32.18) to the current selling 8 day ticket which is a total of $527.18.
$527.18-$467.54=$59.64 :furious:

Hmm...I see what you’re saying. I came up with your figure the first time I did the math and it seemed pretty high for adding another day. Was thinking the tax was the issue. Kind of hoping the 2nd way I did it was correct bc that $$ is a little easier to swallow. Let’s see what our resident experts say, fingers crossed.

Yup. Sounds about right.

Now...
You might want to say that you'd hoped that the day could be added for $10.00 (plus tax) per ticket.

It never hurts to "ask nicely!"

I need clarification, as I received mixed responses from CMs on this: adding an 8th day to a 7 day hopper pass - I was told at Disney Springs that you had to do in on the 7th day BEFORE you left the park. But at the Park, I was told you had to do it BEFORE entering the Park on the 7th day.

Who is right??????? Must it be done BEFORE you enter the park on the final day?????

As long as it is still ON (or before) the last day that you use a ticket's last asset, you can still upgrade.
It does not even have to be before you actually leave the last park.
You can upgrade up until close-of-business that same day.

I added a day to our old stock UT 7 day hoppers in July. The cost was $59.64 per ticket.

I thought that adding on one more day to a 7 day ticket would only cost less than $ 20. Isn't it the difference between a 7 day and an 8 day ticket????

Take a look at the All About Tickets sticky at the top of this forum. Click on the Upgrade link.
