Adding on - direct purchase

I've seen a lot of questions on adding on here recently and now I have one to ask. If we own at AKV and want to add a small contract directly through Disney for perks, do they combine both contracts or is it considered 2 individual contracts at AKV?? Sorry if this is a basic question, still a DVC rookie.

If you buy another contract, and it has the same UY and is titled identically, then you can manage it as one big contract. However, it will actually be two contracts. They will both have the same contract number, but the initial one will be numbered as xxxxx.0. The next one will be numbered xxxxx.1, etc.
When booking, you can specify which points come from which contract. For example, I use my resale contract first, because I can only use those points at DVC. I then have the flexibility to use my direct points at DCL, other hotels, etc. In practice, I never do, but it nice to keep my powder dry.
So it is two contracts. But you manage them with the same sign-on, you can combine the points to book at your home resort at 11 months, etc.

One of the big things to keep in mind, is that if your add-on has the same use year and is the same resort, it becomes *much* easier to combine those points and use them in a single reservation.

For 25 points it'll basically be automatically added to an existing contract and titled the same if done retail.
