Adding on day with a 4-day resident ticket?

I bought an AP for myself, but for my grandkids I bought a 4 day FL resident ticket, since I was planning on 4 days WDW, and 2 days at Universal. I still haven't decided on Universal, though. If I decide we'd rather stay at WDW, is it possible to add on a day or two to those tickets?
Our trip is 1/22-1/29, arriving later on the 22nd so no park that day.

Yes, but idk of the online system will register a discount for the 5th day. It’s best to talk on the phone with a rep or add on at the ticket counter in person during your trip to ensure you get a discount for the extra days.

You might consider upgrading it to an annual pass. Use your four-day resident ticket on Saturday and Sunday, then upgrade it to the Pixie Dust pass on Monday. You will then get park-hopping and discounts.

You get to apply all the money you spent on the four-day pass to the annual pass.

There are block-out dates, so make sure it would work.

if the pixie dust pass is the weekday pass, Disney does not allow upgrades of tickets to any pass for which the days that were used would be blockout days on the AP.

OP, was a five day FL discount pass originally offered?

If there is a 5-day or 6-day FL resident ticket, yes. Otherwise you would need to upgrade to a regular 5- or 6-day ticket. I don’t know the pricing but it could be considerably more to do that.

This.
in 2020 we bought a special 4-day ticket with waterparks and more. The waterparks weren't open, so they gave us the value we paid for the 4-day ticket. You are then starting fresh. We ended up buying a regular 5-day ticket - no real discount ☹

That's what I was afraid of. It'd be cheaper to do the AP Pixie pass, but that excludes weekends so we may just keep the four days, and maybe do Universal for the (roughly) same price to add more days at WDW.

I have twice upgraded regular Florida tickets to the "Weekday Select" pass with no issue. We used the regular tickets on the weekend, then upgraded to the AP on Monday. Are you saying this is no longer done?

No, the max on the FL tickets is 4 days. They offer 1 day (no discount), 3 day, and 4 day tickets.

OK, then I *don't* believe those are upgradeable at a discount. If they are upgradeable, you would lose any discount you had and pay the difference between the purchase price of the resident ticket & a regular 5-day ticket (or hopper, whichever one you got)
