Adding on at 7 months

If I have December 4-8 with home resort points, and want to add December 9 at 7 months. Do I have to wait until May 9? May 9 is a Friday, so I will have to add more home resort points, but on May 4, can I modify and add the extra night?

I will be on the Transatlantic cruise beginning May 7th. I imagine I will be needing a waitlist for that extra night anyway since it’s for VWL (BR for newbies ) but I think a one night waitlist can come through.

If the night isn’t available, I just may have to waitlist when I get home considering the internet on the cruise. But just for information, would I be able to add the day using home points for the Friday if I modify?

No. You can modify on 12/4 if you are just modifying the reservation to add a day.

Not clear on your question. If you have a reservation at BRV for Dec 4-8, you cannot possibly modify it to add the night of Dec 9 without also adding the night of Dec 8, your current check-out date. Moreover, if what you want to use is BRV (your "home" resort) points, you could do the modification now to add Dec 8 and 9, or do it at any other time before 7 months out, assuming availability. If what you actually want to do is use non-BRV points to add the night that is your current check-out date, then you can do that May 4, 2023.

I’m taking a friend down with me for a friends getaway for 4 days in February! Can’t wait!
