Adding extra day to FL Resident 4 day hopper

Reading through the ticket thread and I may have missed this detail. I need to have 5 days of park hopping as a FL Resident for a trip coming up this February. However, I can only purchase the 4 day PH. It doesn't make sense for me to consider the annual pass as this will be the only trip to WDW for the 12 months following our visit. CM told me via phone to simply upgrade / add another PH day to the ticket when I arrive and it will be less than purchasing a single day FL resident PH ticket. Can anyone else confirm this?

According to @ravenclawtrekkie in another thread the Florida Resident Disney Select tickets can not be upgraded.
