Adding days to ticket before leaving home??

I searched for the answer to this. I promise I did. Several months ago, we bought 5 day base tickets. They were purchased from Undercover Tourist and are e-tickets. I attached them to my MDE account. We have decided to stay longer and would like for them to be 9 day tickets now. I did call and ask if they could be upgraded before we got there so that we could make our fastpasses past the 5 days that are already on our tickets. She asked me where I purchased them and I told her Undercover Tourist. She then said that they couldn't upgrade tickets bought from a third party. So, it sounds like if I had bought them directly from Disney, they could have. I have her answer, but just hoping someone could say that she is wrong and that it depends on who you get. You know...like I've seen on here for other situations. Has anyone every had luck in doing this? Or is there a ticket guru on here who can tell me what I want to hear and how to get it done?
Thanks so much!

Not sure about UT tickets but after a recent inquiry into getting tickets obtained through Airmiles, the answer is a big fat no. No, you can't upgrade until you get to the parks! I ended up not getting them and instead bought them all from UT two days ago. Wasn't worth the hassle. Hope your situation is not the same.

I have recently upgraded tickets at home that I bought directly from Disney from one-park to park-hopper, so you definitely can do that. I've never bought from Undercover Tourist, though.

Just for future reference, I'm almost sure UT would take the tickets back had they nit been linked to am MDE.

I just upgraded UT tickets at the park last week, and had to book same day FP's. I was able to get 930am Peter Pan, 1030mine train, and 1130 Cinderella. Get the MDE app and refresh the heck out of it until the times you need on the ride you want come up- people cancel and swap constantly you'll be fine! The concierge at akl was also able to do it but said the system was making her charge me the cost difference in what I actually paid for a 5 day hopper at UT before the price increase, versus what a 6 day hopper would cost if I bought it today- um, no. If that's confusing, basically the upgrade cost to add 1 day to 3 tickets was $150 at the concierge desk and $50 at the gate. Do the gate!

Nope. Even tickets purchased directly cannot be upgraded in advance. Only tickets included as part of package can be "upgraded," but you're really just changing the contents of the package.

Thanks all! We will just deal and do like mstr425 said. Undercover tourist will take back physical tickets if not linked to MDE but they won't e tickets at all. I knew that when I bought them but circumstances were different then. We thought we were going spring break and I felt like I needed them right then because it was already in the 60 day window. After planning and getting reservations and all fast passes, we decided to wait and go this summer. So...anyway, back to plan A.

Sorry for such a simple question. We are wanting to add a day when we go in less than two weeks too. We will be at 1900 the night before we enter the parks. Can we go to the gate then and add the tickets or do we have to wait until then next day when we are in MK? Also, at the gate... do you mean the actual turnstile gate at MK? Thanks so much!

1. Yes.
2. No.
3. See #9 on my map below. That's the ticket booths and Guest Relations. Either will work for you, ALSO, you can do this at the booths at the TTC/MK Parking lot.

I'm going to guess that the tickets you upgraded were bought as part of a WDW Resort reservation or package.
Those tickets can be "adjusted" before arrival.

Tickets purchased as stand-alone cannot be modified unless in-person at WDW.

Had you used the tickets once when you upgraded at the gate? If you have used your tickets in the parks at least once, when you upgrade, your ticket is price-bridged (treated as if you paid the current gate price). If you haven't used the tickets, then you only get credit for what you actually paid. So the concierge wasn't necessarily wrong.

You upgrade at the ticket booths or inside the park at guest relations. If you got your tickets at a discount, you should use them first to enter the park, then upgrade at GR.

Yes I had entered the park, it was my check out day and I'd used up all my days so I couldn't re-enter a park if I'd wanted to. Luckily I'd read the boards in advance and knew that since I'd entered the park, it should be lower.

OP, I went to the Customer Relations window which is before you go through bag check, all the way on the right. (but I'd already used my ticket so as PP mentioned, if it's your first day you'll want to enter the park first- City Hall is on your left just when you enter MK)

ETA- Just saw Robo's map- way more helpful than my descriptions, ha. Thanks :)

That is incorrect. The tickets I purchased were stand alone, and I was able to adjust them from home.

I'll give you that you did, as you say so, and I can't dispute that any further.

I must also say that others in the same situation will not be able to do so.

Okay - so you'd already used them when you asked concierge for help, right? I wonder if you just got someone who didn't know about price bridging versus there being a difference with upgrading at the resort. When we upgraded at GR in MK last summer, I had to have a supervisor come out to price bridge because the first CM was insistent we only got credit for the price we paid UT. It was a difference of a few hundred bucks, so I stuck firm to get the benefit of the price bridging.

The stories of CMs not knowing how to "price-bridge" are legend on these boards.
Always know ahead of time exactly what the cost should be to upgrade a ticket.
(You can ask here. Lots of experienced posters can help.)
Then, if you happen to get a CM who offers an incorrect price,
just nicely ask to speak with a supervisor.
If still no joy, nicely decline the transaction, and go to another ticket location.

Yes, I'd already used them when I went to the concierge. I told her that it shouldn't be that high, she told me the system wouldn't let her over ride it and that I might have better luck at the park. At that point, I'd been trying to upgrade the tix for two days (reception kept giving me the wrong hours for concierge), it was 7:30 in the morning and I had ADR's in the park- so I just gave a half-hearted "thanks" and hopped on the bus. Took two seconds once we got to MK and Guest Relations. Thank goodness for DIS :thanks:
