Ive added our celebrations to our dining reservations, 1 for DH and my anniversary and 1 for DS Birthday. So what actually happens when you get to those restaurants? Just a little curious as to what to expect, if anything. Has anyone had any experience?

Sometimes things happen and other times nothing. We went for our anniversary and had it noted on our reservations every night.

On Monday at Grand Floridian Cafe- nothing at all- not even a Happy Anniversary and we were wearing our buttons. They were singing to people with birthdays in the restaurant though.

On Tuesday at California Grill- window table with confetti, card, added a chocolate Happy anniversary to Dh's dessert and a candle in mine.

On Wednesday at Brown Derby (Dine with Imagineer)- we got an extra picture

On Thursday at Le Cellier we were given a free cup of cheese soup and a Happy Anniversary in chocolate on our dessert plate as well as a card.

On Friday at Chefs De France- nothing happened

In the hotel (Grand Floridian) our room was upgraded to concierge, the concierge left us a bottle of champagne one night and housekeeping left us a towel cake and a bottle a different night.

When we were there for my 30th birthday a couple of years ago at Coral Reef we got a Happy Birthday on a free dessert (we were not on the dining plan and had not ordered one. For our Anniversary we were on the dining plan.

So is it ok to note these occasions on every reservation we have for the week? I didnt want to seem greedy or out of line so I put the anniversary on one and the birthday on a separate reservation. Is it ok to put both occasions on each reservation?

I've been wondering this myself....we'll be celebrating our anniversary and the kids 1st trip to Disney.

Is it ok/acceptable to note that we're celebrating their 1st trip or they don't really care about that?? haha

OP - thanks for asking this! I put my 40th bday on our hoop dee do ressie and I've been having nightmares about how badly they're going to embarass me! :rotfl:

a number of people wearing first trip pins a couple of weeks ago. I have no idea what extras, if any, they received.

The CM taking my ADRs asked if we were celebrating anything like a birthday. I mentioned that the nearest birthday was about a week and a half after our trip. She noted a birthday in our file. My daughter was given cupcakes at the TS locations. She received a birthday card from Mickey at the resort. At CRT she was given a card with princess signatures and the CM sang to her and a couple of girls at the table next to us. I think he was the only one singing that day. He could carry a tune.

I really didn't mean for it to be noted, but it was a nice thing for our daughter throughout the trip. The CRT lunch was really special as she had a full day with BBB and the CRT. Of course after the chocolate sundae and chocolate cupcake she was so wired on sugar that was no nap that afternoon.

I called in several ADR's today, including a birthday dinner for DD's sweet 16 and one for DS 10th birthday. The rep I spoke with said she was going to note the birthdays on everything, not just the designated birthday dinner. I didn't tell the kids- if anything extra happens it will be an added bonus, but if not then they have nothing to be disappointed over!

It would be nice if they made a comment or even a card for those who have a celebration noted.

I promised to take DS(12) to Star Wars Weekend this year as his "gift", but with snow days our plans had to be changed, so a few of our reservations do say we're celebrating his b-day ... but certainly not all.

.... DD is turning "sweet 16" this year and has been asking me for over a year to throw a party on the scale of a small wedding for her. "Uh, no - try cake, candles and an off-key tune." :rotfl: But we're celebrating her brother's b-day in disney so why shouldn't she have something? (the trip was planned regardless) So, feeling her pain a little I tossed her in on one of the reservations to see if there's any mention. (her b-day isn't until September) (btw - I never had a "sweet 16" and certainly didn't put the idea in her head -- this all came form the ex's side of the family... big partiers over there :woohoo:)

You may get something or nothing....no guarantees at all. Some places may do a cupcake, or confetti, or other things.Sometimes they don't even acknowledge it. It depends on how busy the restaurant is ,how crowded and if they feel like it.Everyone is celebrating something all the time, they won't always do something.Even with the "What will you celebrate " theme

I celebrated my birthday there last week. The only irthday thin I got was a cute card in my room with a pic of Mickey and a photopass...more of an advertisement than anything.

None of the restaurants did anything not even V&A I wasn't disappoited I figured with everyone celebrating something this year that the extra perks would be less.

Thanks for the replies...DH is really a low key kinda guy and was a little concerned about how badly he would be embarrased:laughing: Me, I could really care less, but I wanted to give him an idea of what to expect.

I just celebrated my b'day there last week. I noted it on all of my online ressies.

I did note it on my ressie at the Wilderness Lodge, so I thought i might get a button upon check in. I didn't, but I asked a CM for one a little later in the day and got it.

Garden Grill - got a little b'day dessert cake thingy (not a cupcake, but same size) with a candle and a signed card from all the characters

CRT - got the same type of dessert cake thingy and a signed card

Chef Mickey's - got a cupcake

Le Cellier - decorated my choclate mousse (sp?) for my b'day

I also got the mickey birthday card with the photopass discount card the first night there in the hotel room when we got back.

Also, most of the characters we met recognized it in some way.

Lots of CMs would wish me a happy birthday, too.

These were all little things, but they were exactly what I wanted. I got some really cute souvies, and people were so cheery. It was a lot of fun, and we had a great time. It is my favorite birthday I have had, and I am so glad I got to go!

They didn't make a huge public deal about it (I was glad), so I don't think they are likely to do anything to embarrass (sp?) your husband. :)

In march its was a first visit for DH and the kids and it was our anniversary. We got buttons and lots of happy aniversarrys, at CP they had a heart on the table but thats it.

If you added the celebration to your online ADRS i would call to confirm, i added it that way and when i called to schedule BBB the CM asked if i wanted her to note it on our ADRs and i told her i did she said it wasnt there so i would double check.
