I would like to add the weekend to my 5-night reservation (in early June) at BWV and would like to pay cash. Two questions:

1. Can they link the reservations so that I can stay in the same room?

2. I have AAA, an AP and DVC membership - so I'm thinking I can get some sort of discount rate. What's the best way to get the best rate?

Also, OT, does anyone know how far in advance you can reserve the Perfectly Princess Tea Party at the GF?

It depends. If you book the cash nights through MS, then the cash nights will be linked to your points nights and you will not have to move or check out and back in. The reservation will appear as though it were one continuous points reservation. Housekeeping will be the same as for points and you can get the Dining Plan for all nights (have to if you decide to get it)

If you book the cash nights through CRO/WDWTC, the reservations cannot be linked. THe best you can do is to cross reference the reservation numbers (i.e., ask CRO/WDWTC to note the points reservation number on the cash reservation with a request to stay in the same unit and ask MS to note the CRO/WDWTC rservation number on the points reservation with a request to stay in the same room). No guarantee that you can stay in the same room, but the resort will try. You will have to check out and back in between the points and cash reservations eevn if you can stay in the same room. You will not be able to get the Dining Plan for the cash portion unless you can satisfy the CRO/WDW requirements (package rules).

Keep in mind that you cannot get a guaranteed Boardwalk view room for cash and although there have been some reports of members getting standard view rooms for cash, there is a smaller chance of being able to stay in the saem room if you have a SV reserved for the points portion. (As you probably know, SV are very popular with members).

If there is availability, you can get a 25% member discount (off rack) through MS. MS doesn't always have avaiability for cash - it depends on how many rooms they believe will be needed for members who use points. No other discount possibilities from MS

If you go through CRO/WDWTC, you may be able to get an AP or AAA discount. Keep in mind the "linking" issue if you go this route.

That is a 180 day reservation.

Thanks for the info! The view issue does not matter to us because we are always in a park at firework time. We just want to be near MGM for Star Wars weekend (well, the boys do - DD and I are planning to have a perfectly princess day).

If you get your cash stay through CRO, just make sure both reservations have the other listed. And when you check in, make sure the CMs know about the other reservation.

Also, get the same name on each one. I did this two years ago and made the AP rate reservation in my name. The points one was in my husband's name. So they didn't have them linked. But when I asked about it when we checked in, they were able to block us into one room for the whole trip.
