We are having a hard time getting our dining reservation updated from 6 people to 7 people due to time of year (October). Do I just show up with the additional person and await the decision from the Cast member??

It's for Oct 19-23 - hubby is in the military and is now able to come for part of the vacation....

Appreciate any thoughts in advance,
Heather

Since you can't get them changed, all you can do is try to just show up, maybe pleed your case..........the worst that can happen is that they tell you it can not be accomidated and you will have to leave. OR they may just have you wait.............

Depends on where you go. I crashed a trip last April and was able to join my friends (2) at every meal except HDR. We got into CG, Boma & one other place I can't think of right now. CG was the only place where we had to wait longer, about 30 mins, but we also had the Wishes seating.

It is much harder to up from an even number to an odd number of people. Almost all tables are designed for an even number of people, so instead of a table for 5/6 you will need a table for 7/8. If you were going up from odd to even there would be no problem.

I have added a person almost every time I have gone and I have never had a problem, they don't even question me. I just say oh it says 4 it is suppose to say 5 and they never said anything just changed it.

Several of our dining reservations did not include my inlaws (even though we added them), so we just showed up and told them it was supposed to be for a table of 6, not 4, and we were accomidated each time.

In the Disney booking system, a table for 6 can't be changed into a table for 7. You need to actually rebook the whole thing at that time (or add a table for 2).

A table for 3 an be changed into a table for 4 - they are the same thing, and you don't need to call to add the extra person.
