Adding a room outside promotion period to beginning of trip

I booked a trip from 12/9 - 12/16 @ CSR that fell within a PIN promotional period I rec'd via email. This was a MYW trip w/ dining and of course required MYW park passes (at least 1 day - we bought 8 MYW + park hopper). But We wanted to arrive a day early (the 8th - not eligible for the promotion), so I originally booked a room AAA discount rate for the night of the 8th. At first, the CM thought I could use my MYW tickets booked w/ the other ressie on the 8th, but after he talked with another CM told me the MYW park tix would not be activated until the 9th (the day our package ressie begins). No matter what we are going to go arrive on the 8th, but we'd love to do a park and I'm not going to buy a ticket for 1 day full price. The AP does not make sense either (financially) so, I'm just looking for any other tip or trick to convert, upgrade, or otherwise be able to get into a theme park on the 8th. Otherwise, it's DTD or some other nearby attraction... We'll have fun either way.

Anybody? Or any ideas if we can't go to a park? If we arrive later on Friday night we'll sleep in Saturday get up and maybe go to DTD. I asked the kids if they would like Medieval Knights, and they seemed to love the idea... Anyway, looking for suggestions until they will let us in...

I'd probably do what you said - sleep late, go to DTD, go to the pool. Plan a nice dinner. Maybe go to the movies or miniature golf. If you have a car you could try the Kennedy Space Center for a day. I went over Thanksgiving and it was really very interesting and fun. There is a lot to see, so I suggest NOT sleeping late so you can get there early. It's about an hour drive. AAA sells discounted ticket vouchers that you bring to the ticket window. The IMAX movies are excellent.[/B]

I took 6 trips to Orlando before I went to KSC. I'm sorry it took me so long to go. I have a new appreciation for the space program. I highly recommend it.

We had the same issue last year. No luck so we just hung out at the pool and had a nice dinner the day we arrived. We then had to recheck in the next day and got our passes. It was kind of a pain, but, the pool at disney is better than anywhere in IL!

You will not be able to use your package passes one day earlier. But there is still lots to do without going to a park, from parasailing to horseback riding. There's shopping, golf, horseback riding, boating, campfires, DTD, DQ, PI, Cirque, and LOTS more.
