Adding a photo to a post???

Okay, I have just read the the thread about adding pictures in your post. I guess I am not a DIS techie, 'cause, I still have NO idea how to put one simple photo (digital photo on my computer...) in a post.

Can somebody here tell be in simple 1.) 2.) 3.) directions, how do I do this?

When I hit the IMG button above, for 'Insert An Image', it comes up the prefix for an internet link ???

I ignore that image button above.

Find your picture, right click on it, look at the properties and copy the properties. On your reply, etc. type in [.img] before the properties, paste your pic, then put [./img] after the properties (but take out the .'s before img and before ./img]

It will look like this:

[.img]http://www.stitchability.co.uk/mickey%20mouse%20tapestry.jpeg[./img]

Then when you take out the .'s, it'll look like this:

That looks like it would work if the photo was on an internet server.... what you show above is an internet link. But, I just want to insert a picture that I have here at home?

Do I HAVE to set up with some kind of online photo place, or use the DIS gallery?

I am Sooooo lost!!!

Yes, it needs to be on the Net, somewhere. You can try www.imagestation.com (many use that one here and it is fairly self explanatory when you get there) or use the DIS photo thing. I am not sure how to do that one though. If you get stuck, feel free to pm or email me. I can also host your pic on my site if that is easier for you, just email it to me, I will send you back the link.

Yes, Wishing on a star, the pic has to be loaded onto the net. You can go to imagestation (free) or I think you can go to the DIS' photo gallery and load pics up there.
