Adding a person to our already booked ADRs

My mother in law has decided that she "might" go with us for our November trip. I have booked all of our ADRs for the trip and don't want to add her until she gives me a firm commitment (ie books her airfare). My question is: if she decides to go how hard will it be to add one person to an already booked ADR? I don't want to give up the days/times I've booked, especially for Ohana, BOG, and Chef Mickey's. Will they let me keep our times and just add one more, or will they make me book a whole new reservation? Or should I risk just showing up with one extra person to our reservations? We've done that before at Raglan Road and it wasn't a big deal, but I'm not sure how that would go over at the other restaurants I've booked. Thoughts?

I had to add 2 people to all of my ADRs in Oct so I just called and they were able to add to all of my ADRs, except for Chef Mickey (I don't have a BOG ADR though so not sure about that one). I would just call and see what they can accomodate and then go from there.

It depends on if there is availability for your new # at that time. You have to cancel and rebook. Do this now where you can. It is no problem to show up with one less person or to drop one person, but it can be a pain, or impossible (BOG) to do this later on. I had to call to do this last Dec (BOG was a no-go, had to keep searching online for a new ressie with the # I needed, and drop the old).

Yes, you can try to walk up with the additional person, but be prepared to wait a while, or one person not sharing that reservation.

I have an awesome CM cousin who sometimes joins us in the parks when we are in town, so I always pad my reservation by 1 in case she wants to come. I call and drop the # down once we are closer to the date. I just booked our December ressies this week, and booking for 6 vs. 7 didn't make a difference in available times.

you're better off trying to add her now and taking her off later if she doesn't go... adding just one at time you arrive is very iffy... they can not let in more people than the fire code allows... some places that may not be full it won't matter but Ohana and BOG won't work

Add her if you can ahead of time. There is no guarantee they will be able to seat an extra guest if you just show up with one, though they will try.

Thanks to all for the info. I'm going to call today and add her :/

Since your trip isn't until November, you still have time for things to open up if you don't have luck adding her today. Keep checking every day multiple times a day as people cancel all the time and you never know what might become available. Good luck :).

Thanks. I was able to add her to most of our ADRs except BOG and Chef Mickey's. She told me today that she doesn't want to go to any of the parks so I'm glad I don't have to worry about BOG, I'll just keep what I have.
