Our upcoming trip was going to be Me, DH, DS 16 and DS 1 1/2. Our oldest who is away at college will actually be home during the trip and decided this weekend that she'd like to come. Not a problem (well it was, but we won't go into that ;) )

I called today to add her to our ADR's and only one ressie could they do it. They said they had to cancel the others and I'd have to rebook them and he couldn't guarantee we'd get the same time. So now do I chance canceling and re booking or do we just show up with one more person in our group?

I wouldn't mind squeezing us at the same size table, my youngest will still be in his high chair does it make a difference?

Actually, it does make a difference. Disney books by table size. In your original case, that was for a table of four (even the highchair will count as a chair at the table). Now you are a party of five which means you need one table of four and one table for two. The places that can't just add to the original reservation probably do not have a table for two available at the same time as you orginally booked. That's why you need to rebook for a different time.

The other option is if the restaurant has a table for six that is not reserved for that same time as you want. But it doesn't sound like the resturants have a table like that available for you.

So unfortunately, adding just one person to your original party gives you an extra table as well.

I have the opposite problem. My best friend and I booked ADR's for Thanksgiving week. They include my brother and his family for a total of 7. They have not yet booked their flight. There is some chance they won't even make it and if they do my niece and nephew and perhaps their grandma will no longer be coming. Taking it from 7 to 4 (or maybe 2). We still don't know and may not know until after we leave because we are going on the 10th and they are not coming until the 19th. I am wondering if we will still get seated if we show up with only 2 or 4. I am mostly worried for my Thanksgiving ADR's at Whispering Canyon. I know there is a good chance if we cancel and try to rebook there will be nothing left.

Oh, the joys of family:scared1:

A party of seven would mean two tables of four. Going down to one table of four won't be a problem. It's that pesky table for two that could be a problem. But call as soon as you know (even if it's the same day) and see what they can do. The more advance notice the restaurant has, the more they can rearrange things. If you wait until you want to check into the restaurant, you could have to wait a while until a table for two opens up.

Keep the original reservation and then call as soon as you know for sure. Downsizing usually isn't a problem. It's the upsizing that is.

is upsizing from one to two a problem? I was going to go solo and now my cousing is coming with me. I just assumed it would be no problem and was not going to try to change DRs.

You should be fine going from 1 to 2, but I'd call just to be sure.

I called changed my ADR's and lucky they only changed about 10 - 15 minutes later in time. All except Crystal Palace for lunch, we had a 12:30pm time now we have to go earlier at 11:45...... I know my DH will not enjoy that, so I guess no breakfast that morning.

Compromise - get him something from a park pastry place the night before and he can have that for breakfast before your Crystal Palace lunch.

Thanks for the info, I am hoping we know something before we leave.

Same situ here - extra 1 to our original 4. KEEP your existing res's and call, call, call to inquire as to increase. I was lucky except for Chef Mickey's & LeCellier-calling everyday.Even looking to switch around but both booked entire stay, all meals. Wish us luck!

Hi, I had no trouble changing from one to two, but wanted to add a chef Mickey breakfast and there was no availability our whole stay!
