We are contemplating starting our vacation one day prior to our ressie at OKW - we are currently scheduled to arrive at OKW on 10/30. We are thinking about adding a night at a value on 10/29. A few questions:

1. If i book value via internet, can i arrange DDP and DME afterwards? (we are both DVC and annual passholders)

2. DME: will i just be able to book round-trip transfers by calling MS? (even though the first leg of my DME would be attached to my one night ressie at value and then the return leg of DME would be attached to my DVC ressie?)

3. DDP: will i be able to book DDP for the one night stay at value after i book the reservation? I know when i book through DVC i have up to 48 hours prior to arrival to secure DDP. Does anyone know if i can book this through member services when i arrange for DDP for my DVC ressie?

thanks

MS cannot book reservations for a value resort. You would have to book that through CRO/DRC. To get one of the dining plans added to a "regular" cash reservation through CRO/DRC, you need to add it to a package. AFAIK, packages require a minimum stay - believe it is currently 3 nights. You'd also need to buy at least a 2 day ticket. So no DP for that first night.

Not sure about the minimum stay for a package part, but AP holders can add the DDP without buying a ticket (and for non-AP holders, the minimum ticket for paid DDP is 1 day, for free dining, it's 2 days). You have to pay rack rate for the room or have an AP rate for the room to do this. If neither of those apply, you can't add it without tickets. You have to book an AP ticketless package; it carries the same deposit & cancellation rules as all Disney packages.

I would just skip the DDP for that night and do a room-only reservation.

As Carol said, none of this is done through Member Services - they are a different company.

I just had to do the DME for family who stayed first night at Pop and then moved to BCV on my points. I had to call Magical Express for the arrival to Pop and then I had to call Member Services for the return from BCV. Neither end could do both parts of the transportation.

I just did this for our stay at the end of september. Go to the annual passholder website (go to the WDW site at the top of the page there is a link that saus passholder). This will get you any passholder rate, and let you get the DDP without a ticket package. Select your resort, and night for the stay. After you pick a rate, it will allow you to add DME, and DDP. Book the room and pay. It will want patment in full for the whole transaction, but it can be done all online with no phone calls, and getting the reduced APH rate for the room.

Hope this helps

:) We have stayed at Pop before going to AKV for one night. The only thing we would change would be--we would have gotten a taxi and taken our luggage to bell services at AKV ourselves instead of waiting on Disney to deliver them. At least we would have had them sooner when the room was ready. DH had very expensive camera equipment and of course it was the one piece of luggage that wasn't delivered with the rest. :guilty: Didn't make for a pleasant afternoon. It wasn't anything to get upset about Disney was doing what they promised, just not on our timeline. His pelican case with his equip arrived about an hour after the other pieces. :sad2:

lesson learned...

Thanks. Exactly what I needed to know. One more question. When you clicked on dme to add it would it let you book one way? If so I then assume you had to book the return through ms?

Yes you can book DME for one way on the passholder website. Then you will call MS to book the return or you can book the return on the DVC website which is what I did. I got the confirmation emailed to me in a day or so.
