Adding a day last minute

Our finances changed and we can add a day!!
We are thinking about AK or another day at HS if we dont get ROTR the first day. Is it worth going if we don't have any fast passes?

Maybe! I love a lot of the shows at DHS and those will all be walk-in all day, but the rides at both DHS and AK, because they are generally medium to high capacity rides but very limited in quantity, are easy to ride in low to moderate crowds but rapidly become overwhelmed in large crowds. So if you're go when its not too busy (even like a 7 on a crowd calendar), you should be able to have a great day, but a 9 or 10 will be just misery. So it depends on the day.

AK I feel like I can enjoy for a few hours just meandering around.

That said, make Fastpasses last minute! Both parks always have some rides available even the night before!

It might be worth it. Have you double-checked the price to add an extra day? Unfortunately with last week's price increase, that extra day may be much more expensive than you originally thought -- and might not be "worth it." Additional days (5+) now seem to cost ~$25 (instead of the ~$10) plus your ticket days may have increased in price so you'll have to make up that difference as well.

As PP says, book FP+ no matter how close, there is always something.
