Adding 1 day to a Hopper Ticket

I need an 8-day adult Hopper ticket.

I can purchase from UT:
6 days +1 day "free" = $470

The current price on the WDW site for 8-day Hopper is $527 and 7-day is $516 (both incl tax)

If I purchase the $470 ticket from UT, have I figured it correctly that I would spend (under current pricing when I visit in January) $11 to add one day? (The difference between 8-day and 7-day).

This shouldn't be so confusing to me...but it is. Thanks for help!

Keep in mind that you will only be able to book 7 days of fastpasses in advance if you do this.

The tickets I'm planning to buy are for other family members' use in May. I'll be at WDW in January with APs so my plan is to upgrade the 7-day tickets in person so they are ready to reserve May FP when our window opens in March. Does that sound right?
