Add-on restrictions?

Hi all! Can someone tell me if this is possible:

I own a 150-point contract at BCV (since Feb '00). Can I add 25 more BCV points to this contract (they MUST be BCV points)? Someone told me that this is possible only if the use year of the new points is the same as with the original points (Feb). If this is true I think it is extremely absurd. And if I can't find 25 points for the same use year, is my only other option to buy a 2nd BCV contract, which would require me to purchase another 150 points (minimum)?

In either case, what will be my best strategy for acquiring these new points (e.g. DVC, resale mkt, agents, etc)?

Thanks!!

No matter what you will have to buy a separate contract. The 150 point contract you own is set in stone. If you buy a new 25 point contract from Disney it will have to be the same use year. If you buy a new 25 point contract on the resale market, you could buy any use year you want but it will be tough to use.

For 25 points your best bet is through Disney because the closing cost will add substantially to your per point cost on the resale market that it becomes costs prohibitive. But Disney isn't selling BCv anymore, at least officially. You will have to call your Guide and ask about getting a 25 point add-on.

BTW, the BCV weren't even built in 2000. Did you mean a different date?

You probably meant that it may be more difficult to keep track of the add on points if the use year is different from the original contract. Right? :)

Can't imagine why it would be tough to use. A BCV point is a BCV point is a BCV point. Use year has nothing to do with when you can call to make a reservatrion.

You can buy a contract via the resale market for any resort for any amount offered. It doesn't have to be for BCV just because your original contract is BCV. It doesn't have to be 150 points even if it isn't a BCV contract.

Keep in mind that the 11 month window only applies to the points purchased for that resort. For example, if you buy a 50 point add on for SSR, those 50 points can't be used to make a reservation at any resort except SSR until the 7 month window opens.

Best wishes -
