Add On Question

We bought at BLT in February and will be making our first trip home in August. We want to do a 50-100 pt add on. We're new to DVC and have a couple of questions about adding on. Should we just call our guide and purchase? Or should we wait to add on during our visit to WDW in August? Are there usually more incentives when purchasing at WDW?

I understand prices may be going up- not sure re: BLT. We recently did a 50 point add-on and received the current discount/ which amounted to a little savings. Call your guide to see what specials are out there. Usually your bigger savings is if you add-on 100 points. Also see when youy UY is since you may qualify for extra points that way. We were able to get 50 extra points since we purchased before ours.

I would wait and see if you like BLT or other resorts before you spend additional money. Disney may increase prices, but discounted resales will be around for a long time.

We purchased BLT also and it is probably our least favorite of the DVC resorts.

I know I get free 2009 points if I add on 50 points at AKV (Dec UY). Will they do that for points less than 50?? I forgot to ask my guide yesterday when we spoke on the phone and he is off today. TIA!

Yes, when you purchase through Disney, you usually will be given current UY points with the purchase.

As long as you are still in your 2009 UY, the points should be available. We considered a BLT add on a few months back as we have a June UY. We didn't end up doing it by June 1st, so now we are in no rush.
