Does anyone know if Disney does a credit inquiry when you do an add-on. I am very tempted to get the Annual Passes and do a SSR add-on, but I do not want an inquiry on my credit report right now.

Thanks!!

Hmmm...I don't know. I know that my guide said that DVC members are basically guaranteed to get approved - not sure if they do an inquiry or not.

We added on in Oct, but took the II week, and I don't believe it showed on our credit report. However, we bought in in March, and I know they don't even have you fill out the paperwork to do the report if they've run it in the last 6 months, because we missed it by like 2 months and had to fill out all the papaers again.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure if you are going to be financing the add on that they would definately do a credit check. We just financed an add on in October. I'm almost positive it was handled just like any other loan.

I don't think they actually perform the credit check for an add on. I filled out all the paperwork for my add on in September and nothing has shown up on my credit report (It has been updated since). They probably figure that since you're already a member, it's a fairly safe deal.

1) Typically, no credit check for an add-on.
2) They have ample collateral for the loan.
. . . add-on contract
. . . original contract

We just added 130 pts at Saratoga and as long as you are a member in good standing
and we have our payments deducted right from our checking account we had no
problems at all. And we have had some credit problems in the last year.

On a tangent to the OP. I thought that the free APs with 130 SSR points promotion had ended. Anyone?

TIA

There is no additional credit check for exisiting members who already have DVC financing, I believe. Best to check with your guide on that and as to whether the incentive is still on (I believe it is). Just note that the value of this incentive is somewhat lower now that we have the DVC discount on AP purchases starting 1/2/05. But if you are planning on going to WDW prior to 1/2/05, get the APs, then after the new regime comes into effect, swap in your APs for PAPs for all of about $2 more.

Thanks to everyone, I will check with my guide to make sure there is no credit check before we do the add-on. I thought that the promotion ended on January 8. We are Florida Residents so I was not worried about the new AP deal, but now I wonder if we will be able to upgrade our tickets to PAP (we don't have to go until after January 2).

I will let you know what our guide says if I can convince my DH to agree that we MUST have these points :D
