Anyone know if there is a waitlist for an add-on contract through DVC at sold out DVC resorts? I believe I read a post that someone got an additonal OKW contract that was sold by DVC. I assume this happens when DVC exercises their right-of first-refusal? Anyone familiar with this? Thanks for the help.

just call your guide and tell him what your looking for in points, resort( BCV, VML) and also use year. and they will put you on a wait list for any points that might come in.Good luck:earsboy:

when I called there was points for BCV, BWV and I think even VWL - but a minimum amount of points.

I really hope I can work out my financing and get the BCV....

25 points minimum
50 points - financing min
100 points - what ever deals DVC is currently having

If you are looking for a studio stay in off season for 5 days then you would need

60 points BCV and VWL
45 points BWV standard view
60 points BWV preferred view
40 points OKW

Thanks for the information. I already have a contract for OKW 240 points and I am considering adding another small contract - about 60 points - preferably also at OKW. Since the new contract would be a small one I am assuming buying through DVC would make more sense because of the closing costs I would incur getting a private resale. What do you think?

We just closed today on 50 pts at VWL. Closing costs of $375 ($7.50 / point). We paid $70 and received all 2002, 2003 and 2004 points (august UY). This was better than Disney. They have not been exercising ROFR lately. When SSR opens it will become more difficuly to book VWL, BCV and BWV. Resale takes time but does work.

You will pay the going price(at that time) for an add-on through DVC. Usually there will be no MB's or sales on waiting list pts through DVC.

Example 50 pts at OKW @ $84 pt will be $4,200 total

Also remember that if you buy through Disney you will need the add-on to have the same use year as your current contract. I do not believe that every use year is available from Disney at every resort.

mydogdrew - did the $70 price you quoted include the $7.50 per point that represents your closing costs? Were you able to learn the details of why the seller was getting rid of the contract? I don't want to take a chance getting involved in a lengthy process where the seller may have legal or financial issues to settle. Thanks.

I have no idea why the seller was selling. The closing costs were in addition to the $70. Our deal was as follows;
50 @ $70 = $3,500
$375 closing
$200 2003 dues
$4,075 ($81.50 per point vs $84 from Disney)

Also, keep in mind that we received all 2002-2004 points which is 100 points more than I would have received from Disney. If you value these at $10 then my cost drops dramatically vs. Disney. Also, Disney would have made me buy 150 pts and this way I can get in with only 50 pts. I may get another 50 pts at BWV/BCV.

I know that resale deals pass ROFR at $58-$60 at VB and $63-$65 at OKW (depending on UY). I expect that without the extra points you could get VWL/BCV/BWV for ~ $65.

We submitted our contract to Disney on October 1st and we closed November 10th.
