Add a day at the start (with no park)??

DH and I have a 3-night trip in early December, with MVMCP tix and 2 day park hoppers (so we'll hit all parks). Am thinking of adding a day at the start but don't want to buy another day of tix.

If I add a day, we can drive up leisurely, hang around, go out to dinner. Sounds nice, right? (In shorter trip version, drive up early so we get to MK by 4pm party opening.) But then the following day we don't hit any park until MK at 4pm. Does this sound too boring? We'd be hanging around for over 24 hours before we set foot in a park. Have toured GF, WL, AKL, YC, BC, BWI to see decorations in the past -- doubt DH would want to again.

Last year 3 nights seemed like plenty but we only did 2 parks. This year because of MVMCP, Everest, Nemo and our love of MGM, we'll be doing all. Should I make it 4 nights? I know I the Swan can accommodate us...

I would definitely do it if you can. It's Christmas time head to the monorail get off at the resorts look at the decorations have dinner go downtown that night or watch wishes from contemporary. Pleanty to do without going into the park!!! Have a magical trip we'll be there 12/7!!!

Doesn't sound unreasonable. We're heading down next Wednesday and not hitting a park that day. By the time our flight arrives and we get settled in (around 3 or so), there is really no time for us to fully enjoy any of the parks. So we have decided to do is DTD instead. We're also not doing a park on our last day either even though our flight isn't until 5 pm.

There are a few things that you can do without going to a park. DTD as I mentioned above, Resort Hop, go for a ride on the monorail just for fun or just relax at the Swan and enjoy the hotel. Or, since you're driving, what about going outside of Disney for the day to the surrounding areas including Kissimmee.
