Adam and Katie's wedding PJ -10/2/2010 SBP/SCP need floral advice!!

Katie, I am so sorry to hear about all the wedding drama, it is your wedding day and I hope people come around and are there to support you.

As for BM dresses, I decided I wanted two shades of blue for them after seeing Kelly's wedding. I had planned to put then in the same dress of different colors, BUT while I was trying on gowns myself there was a girl there getting mesasured for her BM dress. The bride had chosen three different dresses and told them they had to pick which style they wanted (she had them all in the same color just different dress styles) Well I FELL IN LOVE with two of the styles and insisted my girls try them on. Would you know they each liked one and they looked great on them So my girls are wearing similar dresses in different colors.

There are so many options out there, good luck with your choices!

okay, i need to get back here more often.....for starters, im so sorry your sister bailed, i cant believe she did that.. for right now, i would not linger on the situation as the dress part is something that is fun, but you know you and your other sister ( im assuming the one that posts on here) may need to confront her on whether she will end up at the wedding at all....and remember-ill just extend my honeymoon and ill wear the BM dress and nobody will know the difference lololol

Second-im happy your friend is able to go with you to the fitting, if not id call out sick and go with you :rotfl: !!!!!

uh oh I missed the drama yesterday!!! Katie I'm so sorry your sister is being like this. It REALLY sucks. I know how excited you were to go to the fitting. WHO CARES when your wedding is. This is when you wanted to go! I hope things work out...hopefully she will come around in a years time and things won't be like this. (not coming because of dogs...even how much she loves them....would be insane..) At least you still have your younger sister! and your not alone you do have your dis brides! I hope you can find someone to go with you...(I'd come! :rotfl:) feel better hun! keep us posted!

Thanks jenny! i hope she comes around but who knows. For 20 years old shes got mentality of a 12 year old. I need to have you all fly out here to go with me!

Katie I am glad you found people to go with you!!!

Thanks rebecca!

I hope they come around too... but for now i have the support of DF, you girls, and my younger sister and thats jsut fine with me!

As far as the BM dresses go i was thinking about doing that too... maybe doing a navy blue with the fuchia, then having another one in a lighter shade of blue with maybe the lighter pink from my bouquet. but we'll see there are so many options it just gets crazy!

Yea we are thinking about confronting her. Bet we're waiting until it gets alittle closer so that we can see if she snaps out of it. And you can absolutly still call out and come with me!!! We'll be going to a place in revere so i'm going to be down by you! :cutie: We still have to get together ya know! have our own little dis bride meet!

Morning ladies! :wave2:

I have some good news! First it has been confirmed that i will be having not one... but two of my friends coming with me to the fitting! :goodvibes I am so excited and they are too! We'll be able to go grab lunch after and have some girl time. :cutie:

In other good news i got an interesting piece of mail yesterday.... It was my confirmation from DVC!!! I did a happy dance and called DF... I was so excited to see it with me name on it and the date of check in! :cloud9:

yay! i'm so glad you now have a girls day for your fitting! It should be a lot of fun!

Yay for DVC confirmation!

I forgot to add that i'm trying to figure out how to decorate both SBP and SCP for the DP. Now that I know you can have things transported from the ceremony site to the reception/DP, I want to utilize that. One of my favorites so far have been lindsay's centerpieces.

I think these would look awesome at SCP for the DP.

She also used them to line her aisle at the WP.... and yes i read that there was alittle fire hazard but they're just so lovely!!!!

I would LOVE to have them line the aisle and have the rose petals scattered down the aisle at SBP. First of all does anyone know if it is possible to have those at SBP?? If they are does anyone know how much they would cost?

If they aren't allowed at SBP the other alternative would be these

centerpieces.jpg

I would maybe do the gels without lighting them up, have them maybe line the aisle with flowers in them.... and then have them light up for the DP.

OR another variation that i saw that I like are these....

Maybe do navy and white ribbon inside with pink flowers. And then for the DP get some votives to put around them...

OR forget them all together... just do the rose petals for the aisle and do something like this on the end chairs...

Clearly i'm cofused... I have so many visions on how things will look. I dont know what will look the best or be the most budget friendly. Anyone able to offer some advice?

yay pictures! hehe

I really like the first 2 ideas. The candle down the aisle will be soooo pretty. and I like it with the petals. But yes...this can be a big fire hazard and my fear with stuff like this is that my dress would catch on fire or someone else....I donno thats my fears!

I also reaaaally like the colored gels with the flowers. its really pretty and different and I love the idea of lighting them up only for DP.

so after this little babble I think I would vote for 2

All your ideas are really nice!

I think that a major problem with using candles at SBP is that they may blow out. I'm sure they could replace them with battery operated ones though! My vote is to try for lindays look first, since it would be softer at SBP. Otherwise I think the gel candles would also look nice :goodvibes

I agree... The only thing that kind of makes me feel better about lindsay's centerpieces are that they are filled with water, then the rose petals, and THEN the candle... so maybe don't fill them with so much water so that they flame stays within the vase?? :confused3

I dont know... i have never seen any other brides use the gels to line the aisle so i worry that they might look funny. But maybe if i did clear Gel with white and pink flowers for he ceremony and then have them light up with a blue LED light to match the color scheme at the DP... OR do navy blue linens instead of white ones at the DP... oh i don't know... i wish i had a planner :rotfl2:

Oh thats a good idea too. I agree that they do look very soft and elegant. I also thought about not having the candles in there for the ceremony... just the vases with the petals in them... because we want a morning wedding so its not like the candle will be really visible... and then put the candles in for the DP.

We'll see... so many choices! :goodvibes

Ok so, this candle idea for SBP...interesting...I like it! :thumbsup2 But here's my thought...Why don't you use the gel candles but have them fill the gel only 1/2 or 3/4 way up...that way the glass will protect the flame.

Ok going by what you said these are some other pictures that i found... maybe these would work better....

we'll have to see how much disney is going to charge me for these  Its something to keep in mind though. I just want to make sure that the ceremony and the DP are as pretty and elegant as possible. :cloud9:

I think that is your best option! Be careful no one trips over them! :) I've thought a lot about something to line the aisle, but I think about how there will only be like 10-15 people sitting down so our aisle won't be that long. Plus DF keeps yelling at me to leave it alone and not spend extra money! :rotfl:

Buuut I think I like the second one better! And if you're worried about having flames, can you get or bring your own flameless candles? That way nothing will burn down and no wind will blow out your candles!

I love those. Anything with candle light looks better.

Totally agree! I loves me some candles!

Disney does provide flameless candles. I bet they would make you use them if you are having them so close to wood. :confused3 Either way, they will look pretty!

Thanks Karen!

Hahaha, yea our aisle will be small too.... but i figure if i can use them at the DP for the centerpieces than i can use them at the ceremony to put a few along the aisle and maybe on the sand ceremony table too. I just feel like if we can use them at both locations then why not! :thumbsup2

Do the flameless candles still make light? Thats probably a stupid question but i've never seen or used flameless candles. They would make sense for the SBP because of the wood, but if they only LOOK like a flame and not give off any light then i'd have to change to real candles for the DP.

I'm glad you like them though... i'm gonna show DF tonight and see what he thinks! :cutie:
WoooHooo! I like them! Glad you liked the idea! :goodvibes

Oh! I love the vases with the petals and the candles. Beautiful!!!

And sorry about the sister, but yay for your two friends! I can't believe your sis works at the pet motel and won't use one

Thanks!! yea shes a pain... I mean we have two dogs and i love them like their my kids and for the wedding we have people ready to take them. I completely understand that some people dont trust pet hotels. I'm one of those people who dont... but my little guy has seizures and i'd rather him be with someone who can watch him and that he knows. The reason i say all this is because if you're going to take on a responsibility like a pet then you should have things like this figured out.

Anyway i'm not dwelling on that. If she wants to be there she'll be there.. there is nothing i can do to change the outcome.

Back to the good stuff... I showed DF the last two pictures that i posted of the candles in the vases with the rose petals and he really likes them! :woohoo: He is starting to wonder if we should get married at the 5:30 time slot so that the candles would show up more... That was the original plan i had but DF did want the late slot :rolleyes1 But we'll see. I dont think that slot would work anyway since we'll need to be at the dinner and then the DP. His concern is the candles won't show up which i understand.... i wonder what it would look like. Anyone know of any brides that did something like this at any of the outside locations?

Flameless candles put out about the same amount of light. I think the cover of SBP makes it dark enough that you'd still be able to see them! :goodvibes

Plus in early October it's still very light out at 5:00, especially in Florida! :cool1:

I love that you get to move them! I know I could do that too, but I just don't think we're going to have any decorations at our dessert party. Reading a couple people's PJs that said the decorations were kind of lost on their guests and the ambiance I have decided against them. That being said, I still don't know how to decorate SBP myself without going way overboard!! I desperately want hanging pomanders but they don't come cheap... :rotfl:
