Actual entrance times

If there is Early Entree, how much in advance of that time do I need to get to the park? Does it ever start earlier than that?

On a regular park time, same questions.

Also, do different parks have different answers to those questions?

Any input is appreciated as I am closing in on our trip, and have scheduled any FPs for after RDs both during regular hours and some are early entry days.

Actual rope drop time varies day to day but it's always within 5 minutes or so of posted times. How early you should get there depends on your plans and FP+s. I plan to get to HS at 6:30am for a 7am opening on one of the first days of Toy Story Land being open. The next day we'll be at MK, rope drop is 9am and I don't plan to get there much earlier than that because we've been a million times, have a strategy and like our FP+s.

Do you mean Extra Magic Hours or just entry during regular park hours?

Most parks allow guests inside prior to the actual opening but they have hold spots.

For Magic Kingdom they allow everyone in nearly an hour ahead of park opening and hold guests in the hub and on main street.

For Animal Kingdom they allow guests in but hold guests in areas like the Pandora bridge.

Epcot opens at scheduled time.

DHS opens at scheduled time but that could change with Toy Story.

Ok thanks everyone. I was trying to get a rough idea of how it was working for both ways, since things change and it's been a year and a half since we last went. We'll be there the first week of TS too. We also like our usual plan at MK. We also haven't been since the new security thing, so hopefully that will help at MK.
