Actor Jonathan Harris (Dr. Zachary Smith on Lost in Space) passed away Sunday (11/3)

I used to watch reruns of Lost In Space every Sunday morning when I was a kid.

When I was a kid I was a real fan of Lost In Space. Sad news indeed.

That show was a family favorite in our house! Just like on Disney night, we all gathered around the TV to watch. How I loved and admired Angela Cartwright and HATED Dr. Smith! All us kids kept saying how we didn't understand why the "TV people" even kept him on the show, he was such a bad guy! It wasn't until years later that I finally understood why the need for the bad guy character and what a good actor Jonathan Harris was to make us hate him so much!!!

I was so sad this morning when I opened the Cnn page. I used to watch Lost in Space (original boradcasts) and found Dr. Smith to be endearing...in the long run! Mr Harris will be missed.

Dr. Smith is what kept Lost In Space interesting - especially his banter with The Robot.

I still think that C3PO acts an awful lot like Dr. Smith . . .
