Wondering what people put into their activity books- I have DD 4 and DS 2. I was thinking coloring pages, word finds? I assume people use these to keep them busy on drives?

Ok let's see if I can help. I have made many of these for my kids, just printed out sheets, punched them with a 3-hole punch and put them in a ring binder. Add a ziploc bag full of colored pencils and doller-store stickers and you are good to go!

Are you going to the beach or will you be driving near the beach? http://www.coloring.ws/summer1.htm has some beach-themed coloring pages.

Here's a link for some alphabet tracer sheets for summer or for specific holidays. For kids the age of yours these can be fun in school prep as well.

Here's some mazes.

Go to this link, scroll about 2/3 of the way down the page and click on "printable:car games". When the PDF file opens up, print all of the pages EXCEPT the first and the 8th ones. Put those in the binder and use them as a sort of Bingo game - if the child sees it he/she can cross it off or circle it.

Go to this link for a HUGE collection of Disney coloring pages, etc. I HIGHLY recommend the "Kid Print Stationary" links. Each of those is a Disney themed page with lines where kids can write - pretend letters to people, etc.

The Little Golden Books website has a large archive of printables. There's everything from counting and shapes, to dot-to-dots and animal coloring sheets.

The Crayola website has a large archive of Disney coloring pages as well as ones about animals and dinosaurs (Animal Kingdom tie-in :)), "Complete the Picture" (my kids always loved these), coloring sheets especially for beginners here and here. and puzzles and games. Here's even a Florida coloring page! This website is a GREAT resource.

Here's a website with a coloring page showing the state flower and state bird of Florida. If you keep hitting next you can get other Florida coloring pages including one about orange juice  and a state map.

Here's coloring pages for a day at the beach, a very Disney-like castle and a maze, and cowboys and pirates (Pirates of the Caribbean and Frontierland).

Here's a travel activity set (I would skip the first "page" - cover sheet and answer key) but it might be too hard for your 4 yr old. Here's also a "spot the difference" page.

Here's a fantastic 8-page coloring and activity book on manatees.

Here's a set of pages on packing for a vacation (PM me if you need a password to view or print).

Finally, themouseforless.com has a wonderful kids' travel journal to download and print. We always included this one as well.

Have fun, good luck, and hope this helps! :thumbsup2
