Activity after Cruise from Port Canaveral

Thank you in advance for your advice! In October, I'm going to be at Disney for 3 days and then headed off to a Carnival cruise out of Port Canaveral. We're looking for an activity for the Saturday that we get off the ship. We can be off the ship by 8 and our plane doesn't leave until 6pm. We're planning to rent a car so we have somewhere to store our luggage. I'd love to go back to Disney for the day, but I think we'll only have about 6 hours at the park and it will cost almost $300 to add a day to our tickets, so that doesn't make much sense. I'll have my husband and our then 3 year old. A friend and her then 5 year old will be with us as well. Does anyone have any ideas for me that are close by and won't break the bank? We usually just get a day room at the Hyatt in the airport. We use the pool and relax in the room. You could go to Disney Springs for the day and still be in the Disney bubble without the expense of going to the parks.

You could hang out at Disney Springs or go to the outlets, or mini-golf. Get a lunch reservation for one of the resort restaurants... There are so many options without going to the parks!

When we did a cruise out of Port Canaveral with friends, my DD and I did outlet shopping on the day we got off the ship, and my DH, DS and friends did Cape Canaveral and really enjoyed seeing the space program.
