Hello,

We like to experience the vacation as a family.

Are there many activities which we can do together as a family?

Kids tend not to want to do the kids club.
Mainly looking at the Magic and Dream.

TIA

I know there are "how to draw" activities and trivia, and things like that. But probably depends on the ages of the kids.

My 8 year old would probably love a how to draw activity, if I could peel her out of the kids club....but I can also see if she was 12/13 that she wouldn't be caught dead doing anything like that with us.

Curious how young you're defining as young family.

There were definitely little activities, like all ages games, throughout our Dream itinerary. Often, they were only offered once on the app and the descriptions sometimes didn't make it all that clear as to what you'd be doing. My kids love the kid's club, but they also love the competitions, so we did a combination of both which made them happy. This was with nearly 10 year olds.

DS (9) likes bingo, silent dance party, character meet and greets (especially Marvel), some trivia, and the pool. He does not like the kids club, 'drawing' activities, karaoke, or Midship Detective (Dream only).

A few things we have loved:

Open house at the kid's club (we loved it, too!)
Animation/drawing class
Towel animal class
Crafts
Family karaoke
Silent disco
Dance parties
Movies on deck late at night
Scavenger hunt
Movies
Things like paper airplane class/competition
Family slime making with Stitch

Most recent cruise had family game shows and such, too, which were so much fun!

I've seen families sitting around tables in the pool area playing board or card games. Can you bring a travel version of a fav game - my grands love Go Nuts for Donuts and Abducktion. Edited to add also Sushi Go.

My kids were 6 and 9 when we went on the Dream. They loved the pools and slides, getting ice cream and snacking on the pool deck. They loved the mini golf and my son loved the basketball court. They liked the family game shows, nighttime shows, movies on the deck, all the deck parties, fireworks, and crafts. We also did some character meet and greets. My son (6 year old) loved the kid's club, but my daughter (9) was meh about it and only really did it during the open houses when we went with them.

Mine at 6 and 9 wanted to hang out in the room and watch the classic Mickey cartoons on the room TV. They also didn't really like the clubs and only ever went once for maybe 90 minutes or so. They did not want to go to the live shows. They liked getting ice cream, midship detective, the pools/ slides for a little bit. They were okay about seeing characters, but after a couple they were done standing in lines. Mostly they liked hanging out in the room.

As a young child, my son did not like the kids clubs (as a teenager he lives in them). I have played so much shuffleboard and foosball on the ships it is insane. We also have done a lot of origami and BINGO. The BINGO is lots of fun. So are board games in the pubs during the day. The family karaoke is super cute too. I’ve been taking my son on cruises since he was a baby and we always hung out together.

the encanto celebration on the magic is adorable. We also do a lot of crafts, characters, and trivia. Anyone can cook is fun too. Or a movie in the theater there are going to be lots of new Disney releases in the next 2 years
