Activities for a DJ at a 5 YEAR OLDS Birthday party? I would like YOUR opinions, PLS.

my DD had her party yesterday and while she is older (10) the limbo was the most popular thing we did. They loved it and could have spent the entire party just doing the limbo! I agree with keeping it short. Everyone has given great ideas like the chicken dance and bunny hop and YMCA.

See, now I see a Bar/Bat Mitzvah as a totally different kind of event. Much more involved, more people invited, etc. Like a wedding. (I'm not even Jewish, but it is a whole different celebration, IMO)

It is, but I'm still amazed at how (IMO) over the top some celebrations are. Most that my kids have been invited to are way more than what we do.

As far as the expense of the OPs scheduled party--I really shouldn't talk since we had a magician for Jake's 6th birthday, and not a cheap one. I'll be the first to admit that it was as much for me as Jake, though. So who am I to comment on a DJ? :rotfl: In my defense his other parties were very inexpensive, so not a big shin-dig every year.

PapaD, you have a lot of good suggestions! The good thing about this age is that the kids will have a great time and it will be easy to exceed their expectations. :teeth:

Great ideas PD...I like the limbo thing and freeze dance would get the boys out there.:thumbsup2

How about a variation on "corners", like they do at the skating rink?????

Have the kids dance around then call "corners"...roll a die, then whoever is in the called corner comes to the middle and does a silly dance for a minute..
It might sound dumb but maybe you can modify it to be fun!!!
