My family and I are coming down to Disney World in November. We don't officially check-in for our vacation package until 11/16. We are planning to do a room-only on 11/15. A CM told me via chat on the Disney website that I could have my tickets activated a day early if I want to go to the parks on the evening of 11/15. Is this correct? Will they let me activate my tickets before I officially check-in for my vacation package? We are on the free dining promotion. Would activating the tickets early have any impact on free dining? This is very intriguing to me as it would be awesome to go in the parks for a few hours on the day we arrive before our official check-in.

You can activate your tickets up to 10 days before the check in date for your package at Guest Relations at a park or Disney Springs, but you will not be able to make FP+ for the day prior to the start of your package until the tickets are activated.

You will not be able to access your FD credits until the morning your package begins. Picking up the park tickets early will not affect your FD at all.

I think I get it, but just to clarify for my situation:
I arrive Nov. 11 and have a room-only reservation. My package reservation starts Nov. 14 and has our 8 day tickets on it. When I arrive on Nov. 11 I will check into the hotel and then we are going to Disney Springs. Are you saying I can activate my tickets from Disney Springs and then I can make FP+ reservations for our next two park days (Nov. 12 & 13). I should already have been able to make FP+ reservations from Nov. 14 on. Where is DS is guest relations?

correct

Sweet. Thanks so much for your insight. I didn't know I could activate at DS. That will save us time our first park day.
