Is anyone familiar with the John Robert Powers acting school? My DD is very interested in drama and we are looking for a place for her to learn more.

Thank you!

Places like that are usually kind of scammy.

If your daughter really wants to try her hand at acting, get her involved in your local community theater. It's free and a great place to learn.

Can your daughter sing? Sorry, I should probably ask, is your daughter interested in Musical Theater? If so, then check out The Boston Conservatory. Their Theater Dept. is one of the best in the nation. Actually, it's musical theater that they concetrate on and not straight theater, although their acting is top notch. One graduate from last year, according to my former voice teacher there, is currently in "Hair Spray" on Broadway. I graduated from there with a Voice Performance degree with an Opera Emphasis. Here's the link. The Boston Conservatory

Please PM me if you have any questions. And good luck.

John Robert Powers is not where you want to send your daughter if you are really interested in learning acting. It is a glorified modeling school. You will end up spending a lot of money and get very little out of it. Try Googling John Robert Powers and I think you will find it has a very poor reputation.
