I just washed my DD's cell phone and after DH took out the battery and card and let it dry out overnight, it actually worked. I was shocked.

This one was toast. Cost me $50 to replace. The sad thing is, is that I bought the insurance cause I figured DH would destroy it... nope, it was lil ole me

I did the same thing with my son's phone and it was broken as well.

You are lucky the insurance covered it.
I work with a girl that the insurance would not cover it due to water. I guess they can check the board and if it turns a color it is from water.

I dropped my cell phone in the potty. Put it on a heater over night, and OMG it worked the next day. I was so happy

I am actually quite surprised by the insurance. They have already shipped me a new one.
I used to have an old LG that was tossed, kicked and dropped all over the place. That thing took a beating and just kept on working. Some of these new ones are just... sissys

I dropped mine in a snow bank a few weeks ago just for a second! It still works but the screen is toast. I can not tell if anyone has called me or use any of my stored information. I refuse to buy a new one as my contract is up in a couple of months and I will get a new phone then anyway. Until then I just check every once in awhile to see if anyone left me a message.

We keep telling DD to be a phone tester while in college.
She has gone thru more phone. In less than a year she has had 6 chocolate phones break

OMG, I just washed one about a week ago. T-mobile phones have a white button in it under the battery and if it has water damage, that tab will be red and they don't cover for water damage. Luckily, it wasn't my phone I washed, I was using the one my mom had purchased a few weeks before she passed away. I let my SIM card dry out over night and put it back in my phone and it works just fine.
