ACK! Still no member # Now I have questions for holidays

OMG- mega rant!!
I've been super cool, and super patient for months. We started in Sept. And I still don't have a member number. We closed 1/26! I called a couple weeks ago and they told me not yet so I wait, calmly, patiently, fine. Call today and they tell me this time, not that they couldn't have told me last time, THAT THEY DONT HAVE THE CLOSING DOCS!!!! And that WHEN they finally get them we will be at the back of a 3 week line.

Any advice? It seems hopeless. I emailed the broker telling her to handle it with old republic in Hawaii and prove it.

Here's the thing- we had the seller bank 2015's points. We have a feb UY, ok- no prob- we'll use our home resort advantage to book the holidays at Aulani. We then rented ( AGAIN) VGF for Oct because I was worried about the 7mo window passing us and losing the owners window at a more desirable location. (TG or I'd be double whammied right now!)

So now,it'll be March before I have a number and I want to book the week between xmas and NY. What do you guys think? I'll also now have to bank this year's points. When do I need to do that by again? The 2015 pts need to be used by 1/31/17? (They were a big carrot on why we bought our contract).

Points need to be banked by the end of the eighth month of your use year. Thus, February 2016 points need to be banked by September 30, 2016. Thus, you have no issue concerning banking 2016 points into Feb 2017 use year. Those banked 2015 points need to be used for a trip that ends no later than Jan 31, 2017.

Christmas week is one of Aulani's highest demand times of the year and likely, based on last year's reservation pattern, you are already in a position where one or more nights of that week are filled for all room categories at Aulani and thus you will probably have to wait-list at least part of the week. Also, be aware that if you instead are considering possibly a WDW resort, or VGC in California, for Christmas, you will have the same problem in spades at 7 months out for Christmas week, as VGC will likely be mostly gone before then and the only open resorts at WDW will be SSR and possibly OKW, AKV, and Poly, and for at least Poly, if it is open, your only chance may be to reserve at exaclty 8 a.m. eastern on line at 7 months out. Waiting to a minute after 8 a.m. could mean you are blocked out for the week.

I wouldn't believe that. The person on the phone doesn't have anything to do with closing documents. When was your deed recorded on the Orange County Comptroller's site?

This might be an Aulani contract which I have read takes a long time.

It is Aulani but the deed recorded on January 26th. It was a long time incoming since we made the offer at the very beginning of September and we expected that. The problem seems to be that Old Republic in Honolulu didn't email/fax/mail the closing documents to Disney. Which kind of shouldn't surprise me because I only found out it closed in the first place when I took it upon myself to call OR in HI and ask the status (since we had paid a month before and had heard nothing) to find out that it had recorded two days before my call. The broker didn't notify me of it until a week after that!! (But I already knew obs).
Disney said they can be faxed or emailed. So, like "you have ONE job!!!" Is how I feel. I'm currently out of the country so I emailed the broker first thing to handle this with Hawaii and tell me when it's done. She replied that she emailed them and would let me know. I'm not holding my breath and will call Hawaii OR right now.

They transferred me to another dept at DVC and she looked up the original contract number which is still showing in the seller's name and she has no record of our docs.
The member services gal the first time just said we weren't in the system yet and knee trying. But I think because it's been so long, the guy today looked a little deeper and transferred me in the end.

Ugh! That's what I figured. I would totally stay at SSR with no problem but being that we will have just been to WDW at the end of Oct, I don't know if I can sell that to His Lordship. Not to mention, it doesn't look like I'll even have a # by the 7 mo window. Waah!!

I guess I'll have to see when I do get in if there is anything viable at all from TG and the Xmas Holidays. I refuse to lose those points if it kills me. : )
