So, here I am -- Sunday, and starting all over again. I know it's time to get started, I'm excited about getting started, I have everything in place to be successful, yet something is missing. I am sure you've all been there -- it's toughest to be accountable when all you have to be accountable to is yourself. I've torn pages out of journals, purchased new journals, reset my Weight Watchers online account, you name it -- all because I am not the best at being honest with myself.

So, here's where I'm at:
I am reading Dr. Phil's book, The Ultimate Weight Solution
I am back on with Weight Watchers Online, reset with today's weight listed as a starting number and a 30 pound final goal set.
I have a workout plan of sorts: 3 days a week, 20 min before work; 2 days a week, 40 min after work; weekends, 60 min each day
I have a meal plan for the week and I"m about to go grocery shop for it, and it includes nothing but fresh fruits and veggies in the evening after dinner

Anybody in a similar boat?

I am. I restarted last Sunday. I keep going through the same thing. Something is definately missing in me - I have tried to figure it out. I am motivated in the morning but by the time I get home at night I am all tuckered out. Something is missing.

You know, I read your message the first day you posted it and I had to really do some thinking about it. I'm not sure exactly what makes it "click" for some people and others have to keep starting over.

Here are some thoughts I had about your situation....

maybe you are trying to make too many changes at once. Try adding a new food/food group and exercise each week for a few weeks/months. Hopefully a gradual change will not seem so overwhelming.

Are you thinking of this as a "lifestyle change" or a temporary diet/exercise plan? Remember... to truly have effective weight loss you need to plan on eating healthier for the rest of your life.

Are you depriving yourself too much? Try a program like Weight Watchers, where NOTHING is off limits. Maybe the thought that you can NEVER have another cookie or chip is too much.

I'll think about it some more and see if I can come up with any other ideas. Good luck.............P

I am often right where you are. Sorry that I don't have any answers. I do ok with the exercise but it is the portion control. I just splurged and signed up for Jenny Craig. It is sad but I need someone else to portion out my food for me. I have been able to maintain a healthy weight but lately I just can't. Good luck.

I'm starting Week 4 of my plan. I am doing 30 min. of cardio/toning 5 days a week and writing all my food in a diet log. That's it. I have started and stopped so much that I find that less is more. I need to do this for the rest of my life and this is really the only thing I can handle (with my busy schedule).
