Hi guys

I am in the early stages of planning a trip to Disneyland just have to get DH to agree to it.

I am trying to work out a budget to put together to present to him which shows roughly how much everything is.

International flights
Accommodation
Park tickets

I read that Candy Cane Inn can only be booked direct with the hotel. Is there any others like that which won't appear on sites like expedia, booking.com etc.

I'm currently searching for October and some of the accommodation places come up as unavailable for the dates I want but when i have been to their websites it doesn't show on their calendar either as too far out to book. (so it is either not available on the booking sites or too far out).

I am just wanting to get a good idea of where is best to look/book.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure Anaheim Desert Inn & Suites doesn't come up on those sites. I use those sites a lot to book my accommodation but when I've booked D.I & S, I've booked direct. Another one that's one of the cheaper options that might not be on there is King's Inn Anaheim - a bit further walk than D.I & S but still doable.

D.I & S is a great budget option for a close walk to the park - it's only about 5 - 10 mins walk to the turnstiles. A basic, no frills motel which includes a basic B/F, has an indoor pool and fireworks viewing from the roof top.
You will want to book a room ASAP, it's fully cancellable so not really any risk, as this is one that will fill up quicker than others and usually gets dearer closer to the date.
They do add on parking automatically to the reservation but if you don't have a car you just let them know when you check in and they take that charge off.
You don't pay before you arrive, payment is at check in by cash or card.
They will authorise one night's accommodation a couple of days prior (and will cancel your booking if this authorisation is not accepted so make sure your card will be valid at that time) but they don't actually charge the card and you can choose how you want to settle the bill on arrival.

ETA - they are accepting bookings for October on their website now. It looks like a room is ~ $159 USD/n before taxes in October. You can do a dummy booking on their website to get an idea of cost with taxes and other charges etc.. Remember to take off the parking charge if you won't have a car.

Hope that helps : )

October is a very busy time at DLR, so hotel rates go up. Halloween Time is more and more popular every year. When you find a good rate online, book it (making sure that there is a no penalty cancellation policy). Then keep checking for a lower rate as you get closer to your trip dates. If you find a better rate, book that; then cancel your first reservation.

You can definitely book DI&S on booking.com but as with most places, probably best to book direct anyway.
CCI and Park Vue Inn are the only 2 close by that I know of that don’t use consolidator websites or OTA’s.
discount park tickets are available from several places including aRes Travel, Undercover Tourist and currently by phone at Last Minute Travel Club.
All the best.

For park tickets: It has been brought up recently that a few "discount" vendors charge tax and fees -- which eat up any discount and make buying direct from Disney a better deal. DLR tickets are not taxed in CA, so don't let any authorized vendor charge you tax on your DLR tickets! Check Mousesavers.com for any current deals on tickets, hotels, car rentals, etc. Any vendors listed with them are legit. And the vendors listed by the pp are favorites here and are reliable. If you find a great deal, but aren't familiar with the vendor, ask here first to make sure you aren't getting scammed.

Another vote for Park View Inn. After you've stayed there once, you can call land get an even better rate as a returning customer.
