We are going to DW in October, yippee. The Howard Johnson Express Inn & Suites
Lakefront Park is offering a suite for 4 adults and 2 kids for $56.95 per night. Has
anybody stayed at this motel? Is there someplace better for comparable price?
Any help would be much appreciated. This will be our first time to Florida. Thanks!

I have never heard of this hotel. We always stay in timeshares. You might want to check it out. You can get a nice 2 bdrm/2 bath (or bigger if you want!) I rented a 2 bdrm/2 bath at Oak Plantation for $72.50 with the Entertainment Rate. If you go over to www.tug2.net check out the rental classifieds from timeshare owners.

First thing I want to know is how many beds and how many baths.....the nicest "suite" in the world with only one bath can be a nightmare for 6 people.....since this is your first time, It is hard for you to imagine how many options there are for you to stay around Disney.....56 dollars is a good deal, but if this is a real special vacation for a week I would want to return to a place at night that is not crowded, folks can stretch out and have some privacy....so, for the fun of it try going to vrbo.com....then to central florida...these are home and condo rentals from the owners....for 80 to 90 a night you can get a home with multiple bedrooms, baths, its own pool and a real "vacation" palace.....you can certainly try the time shares as they have largely two bedroom two bath units that are very nice......If we knew how old are the kids and will you rent a car (almost a necessity) we could help with some specifics....You will LOVE Disney...grandpa Ted

Thanks Ted and klynn for your input. I'll try the websites you recommended. For specifics,
the adults are me and hubby, our daughter and son-in-law. The kids are their DS and DD
ages 6 and 8. We are hoping to use the wdw shuttle rather than renting a car. I'm quite leery
of timeshares. The Howard Johnson Lakefront (it is on Lake Cecile out on 192 towards Kissimmee)
does have 2 bathrooms in their suites. Thanks again!

If two bathrooms and two very separate rooms in a big suite or even two bedrooms and two bathrooms, it could work very well...If you got two bedrooms and two bathrooms for 59 dollars you should be the mistress of this board!!!!! That is a heck of deal..enjoy....and have fun shopping around.....Ted

Terrise, $59.00 is a great rate for 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. I'm thinking I should check it out and maybe cancel my Oak Plantation ressie. We want a full kitchen. Is it a full kitchen or just a kitchenette? Can you point me in the right direction for the website? Thanks!

Hi again ted and klynn. After reading your encouraging replies I called to book that hotel, and
was told the rate was $66.95. However today our CAA travel agent booked for us at the rate of $56.95.
There is one bedroom with 2 double beds, a full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and a living room with sofa bed.
They have no website of their own, but can be accessed through www.hojo.com. Or if you have a
AAA Florida TourBook you can see the ad on page 653. I'll let you know if it's a decent place to stay.
Can't wait!!

But I think I'll stick with my Oak Plantation ressie. To me it's worth the extra $15 to have two seperate bedrooms. Have a great time! BTW, my Mom is from Sask.! All my relatives live there!

I agree on the 2 separate bedrooms! We went with 4 adults (me & dh, MIL, SIL, neice & nephew) and went for a 3 BR/3BA at sunterra cypress pointe. It was nicer than any holiday inn or hojos I've stayed & was up there with some of the marriotts. We travel a lot & mostly care about cleanliness. We loved having the space to spread out! We had lots of beds, 3 TVs, a full kitchen, washer/dryer, dining table, screened in patio with a table for 4, a huge jacuzzi tub, a soaking tub, AND 3 showers & a regular bathtub.

I honestly feel that because of the space we have great memories of the place. I think that with anything smaller we would have fought more & ended up hating each other!

We also had 2 economy rental cars which helped everyone get along even better :)

And I feel for the people who have to sleep on the sofabed. They aren't usually comfortable for a long stay. The oak plantation deal sounds like a good one.

Hi...I also agree with the 2 small cars vs the one van....we always rent to two cars when two sets of adults....it is the same price or less than a van and gives us much more freedom during the week...Ialso think the extra bedroom makes for a much more relaxed trip...good luck...Ted

Hi.there are so many other hotels in the area at better prices..i suggest you log onto HotelmartUSA.com..they always have the best rates for the Orlando area. They have a great rate for the new Comfort Suites Maingate East and the Lake Cecile Suites..both sleep 6...hopefully this will help you out

Thanks for your help klynn, Ted, Gillian, and Terry. Interesting that your relatives are up here in the frozen North klynn! I'm very glad to be getting such helpful advice from folks like you, who have first hand knowledge of Disney World.
