Accessibility Question.

How accessible are the rides at Universal. Especially the roller coasters. My daughter is in a wheel chair but she is able to transfer into the rides at Disney but I am wondering if there are any large steps up to get on the Hulk or Dueling Dragons Etc. Do they have alternate entrances or is everything accessible?

The coasters are ADA compliant and have alternate entrances. On Hulk, you would go through the exit and wheel her up to the baby swap area and Dueling Dragons would be same deal. Revenge of the Mummy has the same set up. If you have any questions, a Team Member will guide you.

I'm back and had a nice trip. Overall I can enjoy US/IOA for what it is and I had a lot of fun.

I was never directed to enter in through the exit however. All of the lines seemed to be mainstreamed. I do know that the Mummy is mainstreamed since I just went in with everyone else but I did skip the Hulk so I can't say anything for sure about it.

Hulk: Go through the regular line all the way up. When you exit, you exit on the LEFT and take the elevator down.

ROTM: Go through the regular line. When you reach the Anubis statue room, you'll be directed to the elevator.

When I went on the hulk with my FIL in 2005 he was in a wheel chair and they directed us to the elevator and it took us up to the ride and after finished we took it back down and the same way as DM says for ROTM

Somwtimes they will issue a special pass for the day at Guest Relations that lets you use the express pass line. It's worth asking, sometimes we've been given it when we explain sons disability and others told just to use the usual lines. Depends on how the person at the counter feels that day!

I posted this on the FAQ sticky but haven't gotten a response so I will try it here.
My DD age 6 has a rare lung disease. She uses oxygen. While at Disney we will be using the "Guest Assistance Card". This will enable her stroller to be used as a wheelchair and also allow her a place out of the sun to wait for rides.She does transfer though so that is not a problem. We are not doing a Make a Wish Trip, my mother is paying for our trip with her retirement money. My question is does Universal have a similiar thing? Would guest assistance at the entry be able to help me? We will be there on Tuesday June 3rd and do plan to start at IOA so that when the major heat of the day hits we can do shows over in US. Any tips, suggestions, tricks, assistance would be highly appreciated.

Just stop at guest services and let them know that you are here for M.A.W. trip. They will make sure that you and your family receive accomodations.

Before we had the wheelchair we had a stroller and had the problem that we would sometimes be asked to leave it outside. We went to guest relations and they issue you a card that says "stroller to be treated as wheelchair" after that had no problems. They only issue it for that day though not for the period of your stay like Disney.
