Does anyone know what the access requirements will be for Runaway Railway? I read that it will require a transfer from a manual chair. I'm not sure why Disney can't prioritize wheelchair accessibility for attractions that seem to be pretty tame, but that's a separate conversation. Has anyone seen one of these vehicles up close? Is there a vehicle that has a wider opening to allow for a lateral transfer? I cannot stand or walk at all, but would really like to ride this.

It will require a transfer, but there is an ADA ride car with a wider opening door.
I‘ve been told there is something else about the transfer that should make it one of the easiest transfers at WDW. I don’t know more than that.

All of the railroad cars will come to a stop for loading and unloading, but there will also be a dedicated off-line loading area for guests with disabilities who require more time or space to transfer for loading and unloading.

That sounds promising Sue! I just saw a video of people loading onto the vehicle and the normal area has people stepping down into the ride vehicle with the seat of the ride almost at floor level. There was no way I'd be able to make the transfer back up.

Here is the video. They load at 28 seconds in:

I just made a new thread to keep all the discussion at one place, so I’m going to close this one.
I posted the same video (but the DIS link to it) in that thread -LOL
I don’t know why they chose to raise the level of the boarding area - The Great Movie ride loaded in the same place and was flat for boarding.

My disability department contact told me about the dedicated accessible boarding area and said transferring there will be one of the easiest transfers at WDW.
So, I guess we’ll see.
