Acceptable rates to offer for resale and current disney offers

I have just begun (again) to look at purchasing DVC. I'm interested in SSR and AKV for the longer contracts, and I'm considering resale and from disney direct. Does anyone know what the current costs from Disney are for SSR and AKV? Are there any current specials going on? Also, I see from the resale listings that they encourage offers... does anyone know how low you can offer and not have it refused by Disney? Thanks!!

I can tell you that most people will not except anything lower than what they have it listed for.I know that alot of people will offer a couple of dollars more PP to make sure that it passes ROFR.

My resale was listed for $84.00 per point. ( BWV 100 pt contract ) I told my agent at TTS it seemed a little high since the '08 points were partially used up ( only 61 remaining ) He said there was some wiggle room, he felt the points were more worth 83-82 per point. I offered 82 thinking we could meet in the middle at 83. The seller accepted the 82. I'm waiting for ROFR now.

This shows some of the recent activity, resales that passed thru ROFR and those that didn't. Then look at what is available for sale at via resale. There are points for sale at different price points and a whole bunch of them.

Buying resale means you are willing to take a chance that Disney will buy it from you thru ROFR. If you can accept that and aren't in a hurry resale can work for you.

What is the consequence of not making it through ROFR? Just that you didn't get the pts and your personal time or are you also out closing costs?

No you would not be out any money.If you did not make it through you would just have to try and find another one and make another offer on another contract.
