Free at Last!
We finally decided to adventure outside our room, crazy I know! Leandra was ok without having her luggage because she packed an extra pair of clothes and a swim suit. Why is she so smart?! We all got changed and ready for the day.
We came to a mutual decision of going to AoA for lunch since we already tried Pops quick service. I wasnt expecting AoA to be so close to Pop, but when I thought about it, it made sense since the AoA buildings were suppose to be the early 90s of Pop Century but after 9/11 Disney held off finishing off the resort since there was a low tourist rate. The strange thing is probably that they just left the old buildings up not completed yet everyone who stayed at Pop would definitely be able to see these buildings.
We walked through the 60s off to the bridge that connects Pop and AoA
The main area at AoA is Nemo, I was sad that the playground was closed (it was closed everyday we were there) Also to make sure there is no pool hopping only AoA resorts are allowed in the pool area which is gated off. You need your room key to enter.
Soon we entered the main building and I had a little freak out, it is perfect in there! Now lets go get us some food! Decisions, decisions we all finally picked what we wanted. Andy had to wait till his fish cooked so he told us to go find a seat.
The CM who cashed us out was perfect! He called us princesses and asked us if we were going to a park today. We told him no and that it was a lazy stay at the resort day. He told us that everyone needs those on a Disney trip (to bad it was our first day here!) Then we asked him if we could come back for our gelato, he said that would be no problem and brought up a cars reference when mater ate the Wasabi thinking it was pistachio ice cream. Then our receipt he put pistachio gelato as our dessert
We got a table in what I like to call the circle of life room.
Now for some FOOD PICS!
I got some Disney pizza with a Caesar side salad, an ice tea for later and filled my mug with some coke. Of course the pizza was good, its disney pizza!
Leandra got the stir fry with rice & squash, peach white tea and coke. I had some of the squash, it was different.
I didnt get a photo of Andys. He got fish with the same sides as Leandra, a bottle of pop. They both were talking about how different the rice tasted. I decided to try some and it reminded me of the rice they have at my work
While we were eating our lunch a huge group of cast members came in and started inspecting the floor of the room we were sitting in. It was definitely a sight to see. I wish I knew what they were doing.
After we finished our lunch it was time to get our dessert. I was planning on getting the gelato but the smoothies were looking real good. Since I couldnt make up my mind Leandra went first. She went with the traditional chocolate gelato
I finally decided on getting some raspberry gelato, I was happy with my choice
Andy got my second choice, the strawberry banana smoothie. It looked real good!
We took our snacks and went outside by the pool. They had the main gate to the pool open so we were allowed to sit in there and enjoy the atmosphere.
Once we finished we headed back to pop, we walked through the walk way between nemo and cars. With the first look into the cars section I fell in love. That would probably be my first choice room I would want to stay in.
When we arrived back to our room there was a surprise waiting for us!

I recognized your face from reading your sister's trip reports. So glad you got to take advantage of such cheap flights. I'm enjoying reading along on your adventure. Now it's time to get in the parks. It must be hard being so close and not actually going inside. Great start!
Didn't realize that you started your second trip report 
I am so sorry to hear about Leandra's suitcase getting destroyed by Jet Blue 
I would of been so mad.
