Been reading the health (and weight loss) claims of acai Berry. Can you get this as a juice? Has anyone tried it? Always seems to be a new "natural" supplement to help us live longer.;)

I have had it as a juice but I prefer to buy what is basically a frozen puree of the fruit. I then add it to smoothies I make.

Yes, it is all over every grocery store. But because it is a current fad they are all jacked up in price. You can get pretty much the same exact benefits from blueberries or other red/blue fruits that are high in antioxidants and such. We don't go out of our way to spend the extra on Acai right now but will sometimes get V8 Fushion with Acai in it, etc.

I tried acai juice a while back and thought it was disgusting!!! It has a very weird flavor and the nice purpley/brown color isn't too appealing! But I've put it in smoothies with things like blueberries and raspberries and it's a lot better.

You can buy it here at Whole Foods but I seem to remember it being pricey.

State level law suits here in Illinois.......

Basically another scam.

That lawsuit is for fraudulent business practices. Acai happened to be the product they used for the scheme but that has nothing to do with the product, just the sellers.

I would stay away from supplements made from Acai claiming anything but the actual fruit itself is a fruit. It has the health benefits of other berries if it is consumed in it's natural form (meaning juiced or frozen, not processed into capsuls).
