Absolute nicest pool-home community near DIS??

Thanks for the mention of Reunion.... I'd never really looked at this resort. It seems nicer than any of the other locations I've seen or looked at in the Disney area.

Has anyone else stayed at Reunion? Any reviews? Any specific units with a private pool and hot tub that are well cared for and nice?

We have never stayed there because it is not too close to the parks. The homes do look beautiful and very modern.

The other concern that I have is that I have heard owners only get 42 passes per year for the water park onsite and other amenities. If that is the case, then each guest would only be able to use that amenity once per week during their stay or not at all.

we stayed here:

it's at emerald island. resort was very nice and clean. Parking is a little tight, but we had three cars. Very close to Disney and everything else on 192. House is 4-bed, 3-bath and great. owner is very responsive and mgmt company comes out for everything right away (or TV remote needed a new battery and it was replaced right away). We will go back next time we go to Disney.

We stayed at Reunion in May, but we were in a condo. I personally liked the resort, it is very quiet and well kept. We toured most of the grounds so what I can tell you is that some of the houses are very close together, other areas are farther apart. The more upscale homes have more distance between them. Each owner has different access to the amenities so I would be very specific with the owner I rented from, some have unlimited water park passes, others have none etc. I didn't feel like the drive to Disney was that far, if you go out the back entrance to the resort you are a right near an entrance ramp to the highway.

I also meant to say Thanks to everyone for their helpful responses. I'm not exactly a Disney fan, I'd prefer to be skiing all winter but with little girls, daddy needs to make them happy. I'm a planner so I need to get advice from those in the know and who have more experience than I ever hope to have on Disney/Orlando area.

THANKS!

Ty

Anyone familiar with Blue Star Villa? www.bluestarvilla.com
www.vrbo.com/3513582ha

Any known things that are good, great, exceptional?

Any possible or known past issues?

THANKS as always! Remember I am new here... Sorry for the links. I'm only at 8 now.

Ty

Hi Ty:

Blue Star Villa is owned by the same family that owns Villa Park Lane in Windsor Hills. We have stayed at Villa Park Lane several times and have 2 more stays booked with them. I believe that they use the same management company(who are great) and that villa was just renovated in January.

You should be in good hands there.

Good Luck!

Does anybody have a price range for those Golden Oak homes? Do they get Disney transportation? Where are they located?

usually when you are renting a home, you need a car. Not sure about this new development, But renting a house is generally much cheaper anyway. We've rented multiple times. Its great. Everyone can get their own room, pool, kitchen etc..

From what I've read about Golden Oaks it's not a vacation rental property. It's on Disney property but it's for owners to live there. Don't know if they will be allowing vacation rentals. I'm sure it will be pricey.

Thanks PHF... Villa Park Lane was booked when I looked into it for our trip. I found Blue Star and figured they had to at least have the same management since the photos in the listing looked similar and the external websites looked and had the same feel.
I feel better now about making this our choice for trip.

Different strokes for different folks but for us, we want a private house (not condo apartments), a private full-size pool and a spa (if there is a community pool that is nice, we might go there for an hour), a full kitchen to cook in (I'm a very good cook and we make stuff early in the trip to eat for quick left-overs), and a place for kids to play on a rainy day.

Thanks again for the info!

You're welcome! I echo your sentiments regarding the benefits of a private pool home. We love staying off site. We have been to Disney enough times that we have started branching off and exploring some of the other attractions in the area. There is so much more to do other than Disney. So now, we split our vacation up to please everyone!

I took a look at the Blue Star website and it looks very nice. You can see that the owners put quite a bit of time and money into the villa.

If you do book there, let us know how your stay was.
