? about xbox

we want to buy the kids a new video system for christmas and I was hoping to buy one used to save money (we currently have a Playstation 2) - someone I know has offered me an xbox and what I want to know is if this older xbox system will play the new games on it? or maybe there will be a black friday deal on xbox or wii system? any advice would be helpful.

No, it won't play the new Xbox 360 games. I would go for the 360 myself. And you should be able to find some sort of deal on Black Friday. When we got ours a couple of years ago it came with a free hard drive.

I know best buy this week is having a deal if you buy the the Xbox 360 bundle with connect you get a 50$ gift card that's a great deal.
