? About Use Year for VGC

Hello! My mom just added on at VGC w/ 105 pts. and got a Feb. UY. She already has pts. at SSR w/ a Feb. UY so I'm guessing that's why they gave her Feb. for VGC. Could she have gotten a different UY?? She won't get any pts. til Feb. 2010....is this right? Could she call back and request a different UY? Is it ok to own at multiple resorts w/ different UY's?

Sometimes this stuff just confuses me! LOL!

To get a different UY, she would have to purchase a new master contract at the current minimum (160 points). For simplicity, she would be better off with one UY.

As erionm explained it would take a purchase of 160 pts to get a different UY. And it is correct that Feb. UY's don't receive 2009 points. Only June-Dec are receiving 2009.

I have a March UY, and won't get points until March, 2010. Also, I won't pay MFs until then. It doesn't bother me: the resort won't open until Nov. 30, so no-one gets use of their VGC points anywhere before then, anyway. And it would not make sense to give everyone 2009 points, with way less than a year's worth of availability to use them. It would put even more crunch on the system. Some people are upset about this (not at all minimizing that), because in essence people who happen to have a later UY will get 1 more "pot" of points than those of us with earlier UY's. But I've come to terms with it, and definitely do not think it's worth the trouble to get a different UY. But I wasn't planning a CA trip before 2011, so it suits me, anyway.

Thanks everyone for clearing this up for me!! It's all good! Between my mother and I, we have 450 pts. now so we are excited!! They will be given to my 2 DD's when they are older. I'm hoping for a Disney Wedding some day!!! HA!
