??? about upgrading a park hopper to an annual pass?

We currently have 6 day promotional military tickets. I know that we can upgrade them to an annual pass. My question is this. We might buy a one day ticket so we have 7 days. If say on day 6 we decide to upgrade can we add the value of that one day along with the 6 day to our upgrade? Is that allowed? Thanks

You cannot combine the value of multiple tickets to perform an upgrade, sorry.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that you need to do your upgrade as you enter the park on your first day of your tickets.

You can extend your tickets until the end of the last day. I know we've added a day onto them at the end. You can also upgrade to an AP on the last day of your tickets.

While you can only apply a single ticket to an upgrade, you can extend that day ticket and then upgrade but what's the point? Honestly, I'd upgrade one ticket on day 1 so you can get the discounts for your trip. Unless you are dealing with blackout dates, upgrade whichever ones you are going to right away. You only need one person with an AP to get discounts so if you're not going to come again in a year, it may not be worthwhile to upgrade everyone.

We are also DVC members so we get some discounts. I need to see what the actual AP and DVC discounts are. The time we are going is not really going to help us with going to any of the new stuff in 2021 as far as upgrading to an AP goes. We might just keep what we have, then get military again in 2021. We can get 6 a year and are using 4 for this trip with our grown kids. So if my husband and I decided to go again in the fall we could two more tickets. I just have to figure this all out. We used to always go every summer because of the kid's school/college schedule so when we got AP's it worked out better.

No rule that says you MUST upgrade on your first day, although you CAN, if you like.
(And, that can give you some advantages by using your AP discount starting at the beginning of your trip.)

I don’t think this is what you mean, but just in case, you can’t add a day to a 6-day military ticket.

And while you could wait until the last day to upgrade to an AP, the AP will expire a year after the first day you use the ticket. And you would have lost any discounts you could have had over the previous days.
