How much (meaning $$$) is the trip insurance that is added to your WDW vacation package?

What does it do for you?

Can you "cancel" it when making your reservation?

If you book on line, just click the insurance box to take it off. If you forget (like I did once), just call them. They will remove it. They removed mine.

Trip insurance is $79.90.

You can verbally decline it if your booking by phone, or by unchecking the ins. box if your booking online at wdw.com or checking prices.

But if you choose the insurance initially you cannot cancel it. Although *I think* you can add it later, but I am not positive.

We added it to the package we just booked. My theory was that if I was spending over 4,000 I wanted some protection. You never know when life is going to throw a wrench at you,kwim?

Oopps, forgot to answer this part of your question.

This comes straight from the travel ins. brochure that was sent with my confirmation:

SCHEDULE OF BENEFITS

* Land and air tour cost
*Trip cancellation and interruption
$600 Travel delay(max of $200 per day)
$2,000 Baggage and travel documents
$500 Baggage delay
$10,000 Medical expense
$15,000 Emergency Medical Transportation
$15,000 Accidental Death and Dismemberment

Check what the cancellation penalties are. You usually don't lose the full amount on a last minute cancel. On a room only, it's only 1 night's room rate. Watch the pre-existing condition clause if you have an existing medical problem.
